Certainly, the abortion issue is a factor in Mr. Biden's re-election campaign. The nation is basically - and I say this as a pro-lifer - pro-choice in its' orientation, although perhaps not quite as pro-choice as a certain subset of the electorate.

The answer to the question itself is problematic. In a very close election where the nation is more or less evenly divided, if there is a segment of the population that holds emphatically to a specific policy position to the exclusion of other issues, then the pro-choice agenda could make the difference.

That certainly was the case in some of the closely fought contests in the 2020 mid-term election. It was not that the nation went overwhelmingly pro-choice. Rather it was that in the closely fought contests in that election cycle, an intense faction came out in disproportionate numbers and this impacted the overall outcome. Thus, the GOP did below the historical average in a mid-term election. (Typically, in a mid-term election, the party that is not in the White House tends to fare better.)

Yet in a presidential election - especially one where the incumbent in the White House is unpopular - the electorate tends to be more balanced. The pro-choice faction will come out to vote in large numbers, but those numbers will be offset by the higher turnout in the overall election.

A wit once said that most Americans are "pro-life except in cases of rape, incest and me." Which is to say that while the American public is pro-choice, it is not their highest priority issue and other matters - immigration, inflation, crime, etc. - are apt to take a higher priority. Again, to be sure, there is a faction that makes abortion priority #1, but its' overall numbers relative to the whole electorate is not large.

Throw in that while the nation is basically pro-choice, it tends not to be as extreme as the pro-choice faction. Which is to say that while most of the population wants abortion rights, they also want certain limitations on those rights. (For example, a ban on late term abortions, restrictions on gender preference abortions, etc.) This then also dividing the pro-choice vote.

So in the end, the answer to the question is contingent. In a high turnout election, abortion rights are less likely to be a critical issue. In a presidential election, which tends to have a higher turnout than most elections, abortion will be a less critical issue.

That said, there is a twist. Mr. Biden is using the issue in the hopes of driving more of his supporters to the polls. In a closely fought election, that could make the difference. It is not likely, but it is not impossible.

The bottom line being that turnout and the demographic shape of the electorate will determine whether or not women, per se, make the difference. At the presidential level, that is, historically speaking, not likely A large electorate and the raft of other more immediate issues, combined with divides in the pro-choice community and women voters, make it unlikely that abortion will be the decisive factor.

Which is not to say that it will not be a factor. Which is what Mr. Biden and the Democrats are counting on. Not that it will be the decisive factor, but will be one of many in a larger outcome.

We really have no idea who the people voted for in key states given the unknowable ways in which they allegedly did vote.
So the abortion issue like all others really doesn't matter outside of the people running said elections willingness to do whatever it takes to have their way.

It's extremely sad thou that there are soo many "Americans" who know or care soo little of our federal political system. That they would throw away their meaningful vote on monitory and foreign policy which a President does control in favor of the chance to shove their domestic cultural views down the throats of people they will never meet and live 1000 miles away.

This is why we hate each-other and for good reason. What normal person would not resent being lorded over by people they never even met?

What is he running for The Supreme Court now? That's one confused pants shitter. In America we have separation of powers between three branches of government. The Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade being that it was unconstitutional and returned the issue to the states to decide in their own legislatures by people's locally elected representatives.
