Harris's time as a prosecutor where she disproportionately locked up African Americans for minor drug violations, could cause African American voters to take a pause. Not all of the polling, but a good bit had/has Kennedy doing better than Trump and Biden with voters under 29. Realistically this election will come down to who can win over Independent voters who make up 49% of the electorate, and realistically I don't see Harris winning over enough Independent voters to Beat Trump.

I doubt it, she has a lower approval rating than Biden who in a lot of polls was losing to Trump. I may be wrong, but I suspect DNC angered some voters by protecting Biden during the primary only to be replaced with a hand picked candidate who won 0 primary, which could cause some Democrats to stay home or support someone else. Technically Dean Phillips should be the one getting the nomination since he technically came in second place.

If you go back an look at my replies to this opinion, there is screen shot of polling showing Harris at 49% and Trump at 51%. Whether people want to admit it or not, Harris was a weak candidate and a terrible campaigner with a unlikeable personality, that's why she dropped out of the 2020 primary. Trump winning, this is on the DNC, they should have held a fair and open primary allowing us voters to choose a better candidate, instead of just handing the nomination to a 2020 primary reject (yes she was elected VP, but that was due to voters both voting for Biden and against Trump).
