females are opresed, but also have an advantage. 1) females generally get better grades in school. better grades generally lead to better jobs. 2) females tend to get in trouble less for similar offenses comited by males 3) females make friends easier. 4) only 33% of young females are single compared to 65% of single lonley young males 5) females can never work, and no one will question that. if a male does that, he will be shunned 6) society tends to protect females. if a female is being beaten in a parking lot, folks will step in. if a male is being beaten, folks are more likely to just mind their own business. 7) dating apps favor females 8) males are expected to pay by default. if a male and female was eating at a restraunt, the waiter is likely to hand the bill to the male 9) heavy lifting is expected for males. even if there were 2 females, and 1 male in the room, the male would be expected to do the heavy work, even though the 2 females combined have more strength than the female. if a male refuses to do the heavy work, he will be looked down upon 10) if a male was smiling at random females, he'd be considered creepy. if a female smiles at randoms, she's just friendly. 11) in many old fashioned families, males are expected to provide for the young, and old 12) victims of violence. males are much more likely to be attacked than females. males are 3-4 times more likely to get jumped.

even if you go to most college campuses today, you see way more females. why? because males, for the most part are expected to work, and make their contributions, whereas females are not expected to, and therefore can afford to go to college. it used to be that females were expected to have kids, but now they are not even expected to do that. people are much less judgmental of females who dont work. and guess what, since more females can afford to go to college, this means what? better jobs right? if you believe that college leads to higher pay. now you can also say men get paid a lot, but look at construction workers. they get paid a lot, but they will have to do the heavy lifting, get their hands dirty, and stand out in the extreme heat, and cold, whereas females may find themselves in a more comfortable job such as in a bank with heating, and air conditioning. i walked into a bank yesterday, and it was nothing but females in there. in fact i walked into 2 of them, and it was the same. even hotel front desk seems to be majority female these days

Women haven't been oppressed for decades. They get paid the same as men if not more. The "pay gap" is based on annual earnings which ignores the fact that women on average work 2,132 hours a year where as men on average work 2,288 hours a year. No. A pay gap is often mentioned but that turns out that men work harder and longer. Company board members are mentioned but few work towards those positions so pretty much a non issue.

I question your 'inequity'. There is no reason why there should equal results with different levels of effort, drive and motivation. If a guy puts in a lot more effort, intellectualy and physically, why should a girl who always leaves at 5 get equal reward?

All that additional stuff I have learnt should put me ahead of a girl who hasn't. And as a lot of us guys are competitive on on our skills (which helps us to hone them) we should do better in general than girls.

That's why I think it's okay to date other guys while in a relationship. Men spent centuries cheating on their wives while expecting them to remain faithful. Nowadays, I think women in relationships should be able to date other guys with the full support of their boyfriends and husbands. I also think that modern men should remain faithful to women and stand by them if women want to see other guys. Times have changed and women should be free to stay in happy LTR relationships but still be free to have a sex life outside the relationship without it causing any problems.

In the west, not even close. I'm not even convinced that oppression was ever the word to use in any time in history for women in the west when it didn't apply to men as well.

I think the only reason men and women were treated differently was because women were the reproductive bottlenecks of society. They would have to be protected at all costs or else it is game over for humanity. That was why we never sent them to war or work at very physically intensive or dangerous jobs where they could be easily killed in an accident. We only started to allow women to do more due to technological advancements to the point where the world isn't anywhere near as dangerous as it used to be.

I disagree with feminists when they say it is all due to a tyrannical patriarchy. If anything, it is extremely divisive.

there are some jobs like engineering, taxi driver, and sports team owner that favor males, or are dominated by males, but if you talking about a regular job like mcdonalds cashier, i'd say females might have the upper hand. or even a bank supervisor these days tends to be female. and i'd say hotel managers are about 50/50

I think a lot of the choices men and women make as far as careers are more along the lines of biology such as that the male brain prefers working with object and female brains prefer to work with people. There are outliers of course and we shouldn't be denying the outliers the opportunity to work in the fields they want, but they don't make up the rule.

I think a lot of people just look at the gender disparity of these careers and assume that the results are purposely skewed when they don't have any reason to believe that. At least not that I know of.

In the west, most of it can be overlooked, and both genders have advantages and disadvantages, it depends more on your circumstances than on your gender. In extremely conservative countries or Islamic countries, there is no doubt that women are oppressed.

yes this is a big imbalance but also there's been a lot of circumstances that have made the government wary of giving young children for adoption to single men, and they're trying to look out for the best interests of the child but it does end up hurting innocent men who just want a family in the long run. sad catch-22 of the government. a number of men have 'adopted' children and used them in horrific ways. but im so sorry man stay strong and one day you'll have the perfect kid. I concede its a sad problem.
