He was baptized a Christian at least and claims to be one. Of course, this does not at all mean that he is a shining example of Christian behavior and life, as you pointed out.
However, this isn't the first time in history that a man of rotten moral character has been an ally to Christians. I'm sure there are others, but the most prominent example I can think of is Constantine, who signed the Edict of Milan and was very friendly towards Christians. At the same time though, he too was married and divorced multiple times (and even had at least one of his wives executed), had numerous mistresses and concubines, burned incense to pagan deities, and made political decisions that ultimately led to the Great Schism in the 11th Century.
Plus, we should also remember that "Good Catholic Joe" is a radical abortion supporter, presided over at least one same-sex wedding ceremony, supports transgenderism, at least stated an intent to sue an order of nuns because they did not include contraception in their health insurance plans for the lay men and women working for them, lied about the truck driver that was involved in the accident that killed his first wife, also insults and degrades people who disagree with him, and is a manifestly corrupt old sociopath.
Is this really up for debate? Look, I don't care much for most Christians, because, let's be honest, history. But one thing trump is not is he's not Christian. He's not religious nor spiritual, and I do not believe he can even give the name of the main book in Christianity, nor the title of the leader of the Catholic faith.
I have a belife that none of the rich people are religious.
religion are mostly for the poor to be controlled
Belief*
Not sure about Born again But I would say definitely yes.

I voted for the third choice.
As far as that goes, I don't know any Christians who aren't hypocrites. They follow the Old Testament (Hebrew Bible) and Revelations rather than the teachings and example of Jesus. And they only respect people who believe exactly what they believe. They don't even respect other Christian denominations, let alone other faiths.
They are judgmental. And what did Jesus say repeatedly about being judgmental?
They are like Pharisees.
They are sanctimonious and vain.
They don't treat others as they, themselves, wish to be treated.
If I look at my life nowadys and of other people one would probably not say they are Christian either.
Looking at his deeds and words I would say no because especially him saying he doesn´t need to ask God for forgiveness is a problem to me. Since it makes me feel like he´s prideful and seems like someone who thinks he doesn´t need God and that´s the fundament for sin.
I think his faith is tenuous at best, and probably more rooted in recognizing Christianity's impact on the nation's history than active practice himself.
I'm certain that almost all of the self-proclaimed Christians in politics, particularly at the federal level are basically cosplaying it. Even if they attend church regularly, they are doing it to be seen, and brush up on some buzzwords to appear passable and nothing more.
He does a lot for charities and many people have spoken about how he has helped them with money and moral support. He does not talk about it much and of course even if he did the fake news would just figure out a way to make it look bad.
@exitseven
I’d love to hear more about Trump’s charity work. Where would I find that information?
@RainbowMarinade like I said. He does it mostly on the down low. I have heard several anecdotes about iymt, especially when covid was going on. Somebody would die and he would help the family, stuff like that. It might be from guilt , I don't really know. He also had his own charitable foundation and it wasn't a scam to lauder money like the Clinton Foundation was.
research his charitable foundation
It looks like it started out as a legit charity that he used later as a slush fund. He took over 11 thousand out of it. The court ordered him to return the 11 rgousand and the 2 million that was still in there was distributed to different charities. The money in the foundation came from royalties from his book and other endeavors he engaged in that were separate from his real estate business. While he was president he gave his entire paycheck to different charities, mostly veterans groups.
@exitseven
“He does it mostly on the down low.”
So low you can’t see it?
Anecdotal evidence is good enough for you to call it fact?
I really don’t understand you people. What is it you find charitable about the man? Help me understand. Please.
He literally spent his whole life ripping people off. That is true fact. Nothing anecdotal about it.
Given that, you still believe he gives to charity on the down low. When you search the internet, you find very, very little about his charitable givings, now and in the past. There is, however, plenty of articles details how he’s tried to make it seem like he’s giving to charity, when he’s really not. Again, they provide more than just anecdotal evidence for these claims.
Do you know what happened to Trump’s charitable foundation?
@RainbowMarinade I have known a couple of people that were real bastards their whole lives. On guy was a long time customer that always tried to stiff me. Still , when he died he was very wealthy and many people came forward to tell stories about how this guy paid their heating oil bill, or had there car repaired and other such deeds. I find it astounding that the media hates Trump so much and wants the rest of the county to hate him that they have to tear down anything good that he ever did. He is not perfect and to be successful in the brutal real estate business requires cutting some corners but everyone is
Capable of doing good. I was. never a big Trump fan but after he became President I did some research on him and yes, he grew up a spoiled entitled rich kid. However, he was a good parent and had raised kids that are good citizens. He has a lot of good ideas that will help most of the people in America and the democrats and the press try to block any progress he tried to make. He retrofitted a ship to be a floating hospital to take in overflow covid patients. He sent the ship to New York City and Mario Cuomo refused to use it because he did not want Trump to get the win. This is how sick these people are.
@exitseven
Interesting. Why were you not a big Trump fan before he became president?
@RainbowMarinade I just saw him a a loud mouth rich guy. I voted for him anyway because Hillery would have been much worse. I did not know how he was going to run a big corporation, host his own TV show and run the United States. He made all these promises and I figured he would never get them done. Almost from Day 1 he started working on the things that he had promised and actually got an amazing amount of things accomplished. It is even more impressive when you think that he wes blocked at every turn by the democrats and was demonized by a hostile media.
I do not know what his motivation is. He has lost money by being president and he is putting himself in harms way by seeking re-election. He is right when he says that he could go back to a very nice life instead of putting himself through this gauntlet.
@exitseven
“I just saw him a a loud mouth rich guy.”
Oh! And that’s the reason you didn’t like him?
Not his history of using his money and resources to bankrupt fellow Americans. That doesn’t factor into your opinion of him though, does it?
Let me guess…. you STILL have no idea what I’m referring to, right?
@RainbowMarinade Who did he bankrupt? The democrats have been trying to find any shady or illegal business deals that he has participated in. The best they could come up with is one of his high level employees did not declare a company car on his taxes and that he supposedly inflated the value of his property.. He posted a disclaimer and the lending institutions said that they did their own assessment which is just regular business practice and they were paid in full.
@exitseven
This post shows that the supposed research you did on him was either wholly inadequate, or simply bullshit.
So…. which is it?
@RainbowMarinade I did not expect this to be a thesis. As far as I know President Trump has been a good businessman and did not break any major statutes. He never took a bribe and allegations from women towards him were done to interfere with the election.
He donated to charity and his foundation was mostly used for charitable purposes. The democrats have tried for ten years to find something illegal and all they could come up with is he allegedly overvaluated his properties. Theis has been shown to be a stretch. The lenders did their own valuations and they all said that Trump paid the loans in full. There was no crime.
@exitseven
“Who did he bankrupt?”
“As far as I know President Trump has been a good businessman…”
Every post you make just shows how little research you did on the guy.
I’m betting your “research” consisted of whatever you were told by the right wing talking heads. Otherwise you would know that over 250 people and businesses had to sue him for almost $70 million in payments he didn’t make for their work on his Taj Mahal. He had the resources to run the clock in court, forcing some to abandon their attempts to get paid, while others agreed to 30 cents on the dollar because they just couldn’t afford to fight him anymore. In your research, you would come to find out that Donald Trump has more than 4000 lawsuits launched and/or launched against him and his businesses. While some have tried to play it off as a cost of doing business, it’s important to note that other big businessmen don’t even come close to that number.
“There was no crime.” And if there was? Are you still supporting him for President?
@RainbowMarinade it is the business climate in New York. My uncle was in real estate in NY and he was always getting sued by
Y someone. He had an unlisted phone member and every few months he would call my father to tell him what his new number was because somebody would find out and start harassing him The democrats have looked for ten years for something illegal that Trump did. They came up with a dry hole. Lawsuits happen all the time. Why do you think there are so many lawyers, ? If Trump wad such acrook why are people still doing business with him,? There are companies that have ripped me off and I ne er deal with Them again Trumps tax records were leaked and the fake news thought they would gave a field day. It turns out he broke no laws. It is not against the lawto want to pay the least amount of taxes possible.
@exitseven
“it is the business climate in New York.” Then why does Trump have such a significant amount of lawsuits compared to his NY contemporaries?
I’m sorry, but your uncle sounds pretty shady if he had to change him number so often. There are real estate agents in NY that don’t have to do that. Wonder why that is?
“The democrats have looked for ten years for something illegal that Trump did.”
91 criminal charges says they may have found something. The trial is the only way to find out.
“If Trump is such a crook, why are people still doing business with him?” That’s a good question. However, he is a supposed billionaire who convinces pensioner’s to send him money. I have no explanation for them either.
“There are companies that have ripped me off…” Oh! So you can totally get it.
I’m sure your experience of being ripped off was much like those seeking their portion of almost $70 million dollars? Like the man who made the glass dome? He ate about 1.2 million dollars on that job. Bet your experience was worse than that, huh?
“It turns out he broke no laws.” That’s still up in the air. As I said, the criminal trials are still to happen.
If Trump is found guilty of the charges against him, does it change your support for him?
@RainbowMarinade any of the indictments against President Trump are based on shaky legal precedent or no precedent at all. They are all an attempt to keep him from winning the election. We have a crime without a victim, a crime which is not a crime, a crime that is based on a lie and a crime where there was no evidence and no witnesses. Even though a handpicked liberal jury may come back with a guilty verdict they will be overturned on appeal. Trump can still win the election and can even be president from a jail cell.
@exitseven
Trump isn’t the only rich man in NY. There are some who are even richer, and even they don’t have as many lawsuits.
Lmao. You just spin your tires trying to find a way to justify the shitty things he’s done his whole business life. Things you clearly don’t even know about. But here you are, defending him no matter what. Know what kind of people do that? Cult members.
I’m just sayin’
“any of the indictments against President Trump are based on shaky legal precedent or no precedent at all.” How do you know? Have you seen the evidence? You sure make a lot of assumptions about cases that haven’t gone to trial yet. Are you some kind of clairvoyant or are you personally involved with the case? 🤔
“Trump can still win the election and can even be president from a jail cell.” Wow. Do you hear yourself? You should reread that statement to yourself out loud. I’m hoping you will hear how ridiculous you sound.
@RainbowMarinade Again, if he did anything illegal the democrats would be dragging him into court on yet another BS charge. They have looked for ten years and the best they could come up with was some bogus fraud charge that was a crime without a victim at best.
This is all done to try and keep Trump off the ballot and out of the White House.
Business is tough and Trump plays hardball. I would rather have somebody like that dealing with Putin and Xi than a senile buffoon who has never had a real job in his whole life.
@exitseven
I only read the first sentence so far, and it’s starts off as delusional as I expected.
So you contend that if Trump did something illegal, it would still bullshit to see him charged.
So you just admitted that you believe Trump is above the law.
GAWD, do you actually pay attention to the things you post?
Okay…. I’m gonna read the second sentence now.
@exitseven
The best they could come up with is 91 criminal charges. Are you unaware of his pending criminal trials?
Oh please! Trump doesn’t play hard ball. Your supposed research would have shown you that he takes advantage with those who have little to no ability to stand against him.
He’s a weak mans idea of a strong man.
Ever notice how docile he looks standing next to Putin.
Oh yeah! He’s such a tough guy. 😂🤣😂🤣
@RainbowMarinade Of course Trump is not above the law. he's last name is not Biden. He is being treated in a class by himself. The Biden administration considers him public enemy number one. He is being run through the courts in a hail Mary effort to keep him from winning the 2024 election.
@exitseven
Yes, well. Trump is America’s Biggest Victim after all.
He may have Christian beliefs but he certainly doesn't live by the morals of a Christian.
I do believe the work of God is in him tho, America is God's country and God made him the leader of it.
based on his WORDS he says he is a christian so that is what he is. same as we must resepect self determination of trans.
so you think anyone who says he is a christian is a christian. That's your definiation of a "Christian"
each of those things you listed is not a real condition "if not, then not christian". 1, He insults people a lot? that is just words no biggie. many of his statements were just silliness saying how he feels which is real.
everybody insults everybody. you think cnn or democratss never insult people?
2, "He does not forgive anyone he thinks wronged him" no such obligation the person must ask forgiveness and console whoever even trump..
i mean if someone burns a church do they "need to forgive" the arsonist?
3, divorce can be like anglican christian.
4, cheating... any flirting is called cheating again just words and fun loving. so no problem "He's been married three times and has cheated on all three wives."
5, He does not attend church. he is busy. jesus never said go to church every week.
in fact christians specify you do not need the church building. the body is the temple of god according to the book. so attending church iis not like attendence at school. just inventing fake rules. rules that nobody else keeps either.
you have clearly not read the New Testament
Forgiving those who trespassed against you (Matt 6:15)
Blessing those who curse you (Luke 6:28)
Turn the other cheek (Luke 6:29)
Loving your neighbor as yourself (Matt 22:37-39)
Love your enemies (Luke 6:27)
I don't use religion as a way to base a person's worth. I sooner like them better if they WEREN'T brainwashed by that junk. At least, then, I'd know they could think for themselves.
Joe insults more than half the country every time he opens his mouth!
He never forgives anyone that he (sometimes wrongly) thinks wronged him.
He's been married several times and cheated on all of them.
He constantly lies about which church he goes to and probably doesn't go to any.
He thinks he IS god!!
I can say his words, excuses, and actions precisely match pretty much every Christian I've ever met, yes.
OP, are you asking us or telling us?
I'm curious as to why so many fundamentalist christians support him as if he's one of them. So I'm asking to see if any chime in
Love the sinner not the sin.
