Abbott also ordered the Texas Public Safety Officers to block federal troops from accessing the river in order to cut down the miles of illegal razor wire he’s strung up in an international designated area.

And people are not pouring across the border in droves like some media outlets would lead you to believe. There are periodic waves of migrants and refugees who are attending to navigate across, and with Abbott’s physical barriers in place as well as asinine directives from the governor’s office telling county sheriffs offices to arrest and detain persons suspected of traveling illegally, the overall process to get across the border and officially request asylum is even more strained and complicated.
