Why do conservatives pretend to be for free markets?

When that country song "rich men north of Richmond" came out the whole conservative world was complaining about capitalism as if they were communists themselves.

It mean's you're a union minor (i. e. collectivist Democrat) and in general it infers that you are a communist. It's a story of a small violent clash/revolution that was squashed... Overtime the term would spread from West Virginia to other coal mining towns among hillbillies in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio. Maryland, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and the much of the Rust Belt. Richmond was the capital of the confederate states during the Civil War. The Confederate states were Democrats. What's hard to understand about that? If you'd studied American history it would be crystal clear...

The rich men are not rich because of politicians stealing tax money. It's basic economics. They're rich because they create something of value.

The people who make little money produce less value. This is economic fact.

But conservatives are increasingly acting like commies as time goes on.

What do you propose as the solution? To free up the market, de regulate, and make the rich more rich?

Conservatives don't believe in that. Just like leftists, they hate inequality.

If you go deep into policy sure. But I think overall conservatives do not truly believe in free markets.

Free market results in some people being rich, some being poor, some in the middle.

Based on the popularity of the song among conservatives I think it's safe to say they don't like the idea that some people are poor.

Or maybe they do. They are 100% in support of free markets unless they are the ones who are poor.

That’s kinda broad. And I don’t agree just because of how divided the Republican Party has become, and how its constituency has changed over the past ten-ish years or so. I will say that I thank that just about nobody actually believes in free markets. Anywhere. Regardless of party.
