Trending & News Ukraine did better than expected, but as could easily be for-seen no matter how well they do they will still lose as expected. Which means ultimately all the lives lost and infrastructure destroyed will be for nothing.
The only way to win a war against a country soo vastly superior in numbers and equipment is to win it against their will to fight. That would always be difficult a against a oligarchy like Russia, even more so given the Russian mindset on war. But that is also why you can't fight that way. You have to be a drain on Russia, something they don't want to sink resources into.
That's going to be difficult given the Ukraine has strategically vital and historically Russian ports. As well as a population that was in its eastern half historically Russian. As such Russia would always reclaim such populations because they could not be made to so hate the Russian as to be more of a liability.
Which basically leaves us to where we are today, except today is much worse as not only are hundreds of thousands dead but theses areas and much of the Ukraine is destroyed.
its kind of defeatist in terms of holding all of the Ukraine together as it was, but really the alternative requires attacking and destroying Russia, with Ukraine simply doesn't have the numbers to do.
The rule is if you can't destroy your enemies country you can't defeat them in a 1 on 1 fight, so don't try it
actualy russian soldiers don't have a will to fight. they eere forced, threatened so do enough that officer won't complain, but not carefully, enthusiastic.
that helped ukraine win battles and even retake big land in north and northeast.
I mean... it was always obvious to me that the US/Western Powers were stoking the conflict. I recognized that back in the late Bush years, and even more so in the Obama years. I didn't support the US bankrolling European defense back then, and I don't support it now.
I didn't know who the players were well enough to know who would taking the profits from the situation, but it was always obvious to me that the war was about profit. That said, I was still genuinely surprised when Putin chose to invade the rest of Ukraine instead of taking the two Russian-dominated provinces.
I was shocked too when Putin invaded, but Ukraine killing ethnic Russians didn't help the situation.
That didn't help the situation at all. It's kind funny to me when people talk about the invasion as though this was an unprompted, unprovoked, unjustified attack, as thought we hadn't been antagonizing the Russians for years. The invasion was bound to happen eventually.
Yes, someone seriously needs to drop that fucking murdering, mentally deranged despot Putin, along with complete annihilation of all the other murdering Russkies.
What about Ukraine? before the Putin even invaded, Ukraine was killing ethnic Russians. I get it you don't like Putin, neither do I, but Putin doing war crimes doesn't give Ukraine a free pass to do war crimes, which both sides are guilty of. Ware crimes need to be condemned no matter who's doing them. This how Ukraine situation could have been avoided had Zelensky signed the Minks Accord 2 agreement like he promised he would when he ran for President.

I did not give you MHO, G@G did.
No. The war is fake. It's a money laundering operation.

Yes, there is that thing about freedom. Where a large very aggressive country invades another without warning and starts killing its civilian population, rape, murder, indiscriminate bombing of buildings in cities and towns. Most of the free thinking democratic countries fully support Ukraine defending its self and also actively support it. Then you have the arse holes who just act as Russian propaganda machines and are against all those values of freedom and defending countries from aggressors.
Freedom went out the window when Ukraine seized control of all media outlets and shut down opposing political opponents/parties. Ukraine who was voted the most corrupt government, isn't innocent in all of this, before Russia invaded, Ukraine was kill off ethnic Russians. This proxy war was never about Ukraine's freedom, main goal was to weaken Russia making US corporations money. Russia should have never invaded, but they just didn't wake up one morning and decide to invade. This whole situation could have been avoided had Zelensky singed the Minks Accord agreement like he promised to do when he ran for President of Ukraine.
Yeah you are totally wrong, I am guessing some brain washes spam lol. You do know the war has been going on a while and that other countries have been training Ukrainian troops for a while. Anyone in the west backing Russia is just saying yes to a larger war in the next few years.
Russia first invaded in 2014. They then armed pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine.
Ukraine was never a threat to Russia. NATO was already on their border with Estonia and Lithuania.
Russia invaded to gain territoriy and expand its sphere of influence. Saying their provoked is like say "John was wrong to rape Mary, but he was provoked."
Not quite on the opposite side of the world to me but about 3/4 as far as you can get.
I support Ukraine because Russia revanchism - recapturing countries it captured in WW2 - is dangerous. The outbreak of conflicts in the middle east isn't a coincident.
Ukraine holding is the best chance China does not initiate a war. A Taiwan invasion will be catastrophic economically because suddenly all the high end chips will go.
With fighting in Europe, middle east and the far east it will WW3. Ukraine is the best place to stop this from happening.
very precise, iran shooting everyone, now, and even smaller hammas and hezbolla making trouble at same time. and wonderful conclusion!
@strateguy632 Thanks
They are not our allies. They are not a member of NATO. Biden wants World War as part of his scorched earth objective. He wants to bring down the country before be becomes a vegetable or room temp sets in. Biden is insanely jealous of achievers like Trump. Why he lies about everything. Despite being around since Genesis, his career is a failure and he knows it.
No, as I am not very involved or knowledgeable about it. I just do not trust things to be as them seem on social media.
However, I have seen some reddit clips of Russians doing heinous things, but I would not be surprised if Ukraine did them as well, as that comes with war.
Both Ukraine and Russia are guilty of war crimes, but before the war even started, Ukraine was voted most corrupt government and was killing ethnic Russians. Not giving Russia a free pass, but it's shocking the amount of people blindly supporting Ukraine and giving them a free pass, like war crimes are OK if they are against the enemy.
Please show me a list of names, their pictures and houses and the cases with Russian prosecutors, where ethnic Russians were killed. Stop believing in obvious Russian FUD. What they are accusing others, is just what they do. Just look how they deny the Katyn massacre in Poland. Or that they shot down flight MH17. Or the invasion into Georgia.
@DryGermanGuy Part of the genocide happened shortly after the 2014 US led cue to install a pro-western president.

There is no genocide on Russian civilians happening, not then and not now. You can name no names, show no photos and cite no investigations. And that video-clip makes no mention of it either.
no conflicting ideas here. he is right that the amount is outrageous. that doesn't conflict giving some to ukraine. also McConnell is also right that justified to spend, but not too much.
a cease fire where russia keeps the land it stole is impossible. the alternative putin returns but won't give it back!
the fact the rich will get richer... that doesn't mean ukraine should lose its land and people. why would that turn people against ukraine?
I never supported the war in Ukraine. I do support the right of a country to defend itself when invaded, however long that takes.
excellent distinction.
I support the rights of the democratic country Ukraine to defend itself against a barbaric invasion, till the last of the Russian invaders is either dead in the ground or back in his own country.
chsse em OVER the border too until they surrender.
Ukraine's democracy went out the window when the government seized control of media outlets and shutdown opposing political opponents/parties.

No, it's time to let NATO step up if they want. I think we could find better uses for a hundred billion dollars in America. How about se ure the border and start deportations for one thing
@exitseven
You still don't get it do you? The 2% is not a bill of actual COSTS that the United States have to pay when others are "too lazy or too stingy". It's a guideline of how much each country should invest into THEIR OWN defense industry. If they pay 0,5% or 5% of their GDP, it doesn't mean a single dollar more or less for the United States! For fuck's sake!!!
@DryGermanGuy When nobody else pays the US has to step up and bail them out. In Ukraine the US shelled out 260 billion dollars. The rest of the NATO countries put together did not pay a fraction of that.
Helping Ukraine has NOTHING to do with NATO, obviously! Those countries that are helping Ukraine are NATO members and non-members and those countries that are not helping Ukraine are also NATO members and non-members. Do yourself a big favor and stop parroting Trumpisms, it makes you look even more stupid than him.
Here are the numbers for military and civilian aid, count for yourself:

Nope. Never did. It was never America's business.
I support Ukraine's right to defend its territory and people from the Russian invaders
Ukraine wouldn't even be defending their territory, had Zelensky signed the minks accord 2 agreement like he promised he would when he ran for president.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2XXE4f8K5I
Ukraine was NOT going to invade Russia with or without NATO!
Ukraine was NO threat to Russia.
Using the Minsk agreement is a smokescreen
Not to mention that Russia signed the Budapest accord where they promised to respect the sovereignty of the Ukrainian state.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Budapest_Memorandum
I do. I wish Putin would just call it quits and leave Ukraine along. There is enough shit going on in this world without war
UK here. I support pushing Putin's thugs out of Ukraine. The war is upon us, whether we support it or not.
War is only upon us cause the powerful elite don't want peace when they can profit off the war while inflicting damage to Russia
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2XXE4f8K5I
By people sick and tired of the military complex profiting off of death and destruction around the world.
Don't care. This only ends one way for both sides wasting money and time on it is futile
Not support, per se, but strongly agree with resisting Russian aggression.
War is mostly a terrible unnecessary thing. I’m not a fan of war. If it must be fought, it should be quick, brutal, and decisive
NEVER SUPPORTED IT #RUSSIAFOREVER WE NEED TO RETAKE OUR LAND AND UKRAINIAN ARE LAND STEALING TRAITORS WE SHOULDVE INVADED THEM SOONER
