Fast forward to 27:00 for a few people belching carbon into the atmosphere. 1/2 of the carbon emitted by aircraft is from the richest 1% of the population. Stephen Spielburg, Taylor Swift and many others are puking Co2. Pete Buttigeg took a trip to receive LGBTQ award. Tons of C02 created. Should we as society push back against this blatent abuse of the planet and demand efficiency in their schedules and care for the planet?

Anyway you cut it... these people that belch words in the air about climate do what they do best... be hypocrites about the issue they promote.

Yes, cancel carbon... and their trips... to save the planet

As much as private jets may add to CO2 (or other greenhouse gas [GHG]) emissions, lots of private planes are corporate planes and/or are charter planes, not personal jets. Regardless, as much as they may admit, it's not as much as more important sources. Livestock generate more GHG than aircraft.

This from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS - the preëminent science organization in the US.):

"Livestock is responsible for 14.5% of global greenhouse emissions, researchers estimate. The animals emit gases such as nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide (CO2), and methane in amounts that have significantly changed our atmosphere. And the impact is growing. As more people worldwide are lifted out of poverty, many more can afford to eat meat regularly; global demand for animal products, now 14 grams per person per day, is expected to more than double by 2050."

You want us to suffocate? Plants need carbon to survive. Plants create the air that we breath to survive! There's no such thing as climate change/global warming.
50 years ago they were crying about global cooling and we were supposed to have frozen to death by the early `80's!

maybe that's good but other things are bad. have you noticed when it's warmer out, people drive like crazies? hot makes things more aggitated, lot of people don't live in deserts because it's too hot. ultimately it means some areas get stronger weather and people dislocated... if the theory is correct.

What's carbon got to do with it getting hot? Whether we have it or not, it still gets hot from time to time. How much carbon did we have in the `30's? Yet, that was the hottest period on record, so far.
Booze makes people do crazy shit, too but, I don't see anybody telling booze makers to stop making it!
That's BECAUSE they're deserts! Now that they're greening up, they're becoming tropical rain forests and the like. People CAN live there, now and start growing their own food instead of waiting fort Sally Struthers to bring them a sandwich now and again.

The only real solution I see is a technological innovation that can result in a smaller carbon footprint at a greater efficiency to the solutions that result in a larger footprint.

Trying to get the entire world to collaborate on reducing carbon emissions just seems to offer a massive competitive market advantage to the nations that opt out.

I don't know how to encourage such technological innovations but crippling an economy doesn't seem like a very effective way.

I'm not opposed to solutions like carbon tax to gently nudge the market to reduce emissions and possibly accelerate the research and development of alternative solutions. Yet I think it has to generally be applied at the mindset of reducing negative externalities at a local scale, not a worldwide scale. For an economy to prioritize planetary concerns seems to me like it may inadvertently come at the cost of arriving at the best planetary-scale solutions.

We are primarily - minus the water - carbon-based life. The primary, most commonly occurring element on earth is Carbon. Every plant on this planet absorbs carbon from CO² and excretes OXYGEN.
