I'm sure that what's left of the Chicks (formerly the Dixie Chicks, but they became ashamed of being Southern and dropped "Dixie" from their name) would be ashamed of the Iraq war because they were ashamed of being American and they ashamed of their president. I think they just enjoyed living life in a perpetual state of shame.

I think every American is ashamed of theat war.

Everyone is going to have different reasons. And a lot of us are proud of the good things we managed to do there but ultimately we're all ashamed of the fact we shouldn't have been there in the first place and we could have done so much more good for all the bad we took part in.

Why would they be? I mean I’m not saying the war was right but individuals who have nothing to do with the war did not elect to be part of the war. Maybe those in the military that partook in it with malice intent.

I doubt it. The vast majority of those who oppose it now opposed it then, too. Everyone else either still doesn't care or still support it. I think Americans are generally inoculated to feeling ashamed of each other.
