I think that long ago, the god of misery and suffering fell in love with a mortal woman and came to Earth. They had five children: one went east and became the ancestor of the Koreans, one went north and became the ancestor of the Russians, one went west and became the ancestor of the Irish, one went south and became the ancestor of the Jews, and one got hopelessly lost, settled between two rivers, and became the ancestor of the Iraqis. Seriously, EVERYBODY beats up on those poor folks. From the Sumerians to the Americans (multiple times, no less!), it seems like everyone wants to go to Iraq to knock down some buildings and kill people- and not even leaders, just Abdul and Ali and Wakaz; regular Iraqi guys not so different from you or me.

Hell, with the rise of ISIS, even the IRAQIs have gotten in on the "invading Iraq" action. Maybe we should all leave them be for a while; they'd probably have cities on the moon in twenty years if we did.

A beautiful ancient history, but unfortunately unsafe in modern times.
It's sad how a country that should be so prosperous is completely destroyed in every way. In that regard it shares a similarity to Venezuela.
