1 yRevenge, the German desire to restore the old borders lost in the first world war and the dethronement of the European powers (UK, France).
There is no clear beginning of the Second World War, the first actions in chronological order that constituted the conditions of such a conflict are:
- Anschlut (Annexation of Austria)
- The Treaty of Munich (Concession to France and the UK of territories in Czecho-Slovakia)
- Rearmament of the Rhineland area (prohibited in the Treaty of Versailles)
- The reintroduction of compulsory military service in Germany (prohibited in the Treaty of Versailles)The official date and the action that led to the declaration of this war was September 1, 1939 through the invasion of Poland by the German army. (Germany thus respects the alliance with the USSR through the Ribentrop-Molotov non-aggression pact, the USSR invading Poland on September 17, 1939).
This division of Poland by 2 extremist and totalitarian regimes led to a political chaos in Europe, completely restructuring the old alliances from the First World War and not at all favoring the conditions to create a favorable peace for all nations.
So that former allies like Romania and Italy will contribute on both sides to starting and maintaining this conflict for a prolonged period.

austria was CLEAR invasion. started the war, but not world war until attacked poland that had strong allies.
@strateguy632 It is true, whas an invasion, but they didn't opose in a way or another, they simply accepted and participate in the jews persecution with no problems.
WW2, if the Antant will had been a serious aliance, should had invade Germany in the moment Hitler make the military service active again and when he make his trups move in to Renania.

There are many reasons, and different ones were more important to different countries. @Kelly6 and @pierre7i would have you believe the start was 1939 when Britain declared war on Germany after Hitler invaded Poland. One must look earlier to late 1938 when Germany, Italy, Great Britain, and France signed the Munich agreement, by which Czechoslovakia must surrender its border regions and defenses (the so-called Sudeten region) to Nazi Germany. German troops occupied these regions between October 1 and 10, 1938.
But war had already broken out in the Pacific theater. Japan had invaded Manchuria in 1937, well in advance of Hitler invading Poland and Czechoslovakia. Japan was invading various countries in southeast Asia, and was also heading north from there. All of that was part of WW2, so those saying Japan was fighting that war before Germany are correct.

u 1 yWorldwide depression made people prone to want a grand leader who could save them and Hitler offered people a false sense of hope and pride. He was a charismatic speaker. He was also an idiot who wanted to be surrounded by yes men and that led him down the path to evil.

close but no. hitler offered SCAPEGOATS to blame that attracted some and used terror to bully the rest. he built a huge airforce violated treaties, for the goals written in book mein kampf, to conquer slav lands, subdue them and kill the jew cancer.
1 yAt the end of World War I, the victorious powers handed the Japanese a mandate over the former German islands north of the equator, one of the most important strategic areas in the Pacific.
Europe is destabilized, with Germany hit especially hard with the terms of the Versailles Treaty.
Imperial Germany ends with start of the Weimar republic.Great Depression starts in 1929
Seeking raw materials to fuel its growing industries, Japan invaded the Chinese province of Manchuria in 1931.
The German Socialist Nazi party slowly gains popularity in the backdrop of the Great Depression.
Adolf Hitler becomes Chancellor of Germany in 1933 and Führer (supreme leader) in 1934. In the mid 1930's, he secretly began the rearmament of Germany in violation of the Versailles Treaty. Believing in racial superiority of the German or “Aryan,” Hitler that war was the only way to gain the necessary “Lebensraum,” or living space.
In the Orient, World War II began without all that much notice. On September 18, 1931, Japan’s Kwantung Army began it’s conquest and occupation of the northern Chinese province of Manchuria. Things simmered at a fairly low level of violence that lasted six years.
That changed on July 7, 1937, when more serious fighting broke out. It then quickly became a major war between China and Japan. The Chinese Nationalist (Kuomintang) government had to move to the interior as the Japanese invaded the great cities of the East, such as Shanghai, Beijing and Nanjing, committing many atrocities against the local populations along the way. The Chinese Communists held out in their base in northwest China.
In 1938, Hitler sends troops to take over Austria after signing alliances with Italy and Japan against the Soviet Union and in 1939 annexes Czechoslovakia.
He remained unchecked as France and Britain didn't want another large war, and the US and USSR had internal issues. In late August 1939, Germany and the USSR signed the German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact.
On September 1, 1939, Hitler invaded Poland from the west; two days later, France and Britain declared war on Germany, beginning WWII In Europe.04 Reply- 1 y

Durr, mien kampf as in the Jews and the other scapegoats.
m 1 yThere was not a single one, rather there were numerous things that stacked up. The Treat of Versailles was too harsh, the forced breakup of a country rarely works, the global depression and the punishing fines, appeasement, League of Nations failed, then there was the drive by Germany to become militaristic and Hitler driving it. A number of those items gave Hitler support internally and some prevented anyone stopping him. Germany, Italy and Japan were well aware of each other and supportive. Not doing anything when Hitler started annexing places, led to the final chance with Poland and war. If Versailles had not been as severe and punishing, there is a chance war would not have occurred, however if it had been delayed to 1960’s it would have been far worse.

1 yFrom my understanding Germany originally made an alliance with Russia, the AXIS power consisted of Germany, Russia, Italy and Japan.
Eventually Germany wanted to expand more than just throughout Europe and began attacking Czech countries. Including Russia.
We got involved with the European conflict due to Germany bombing the UK and France. Little to our knowledge until US troops peeled back the Nazi territorial lines that we saw the horrors they where doing to civilians.22 Reply- 1 y
From history books I read in school, History was one of my favorite subjects
1 yWell from what I can remember, WW2 started because Japan was becoming a very powerful nation and so started wanting to conquer (BY FORCE MIND YOU) other nations and their governments as well. U. S. decided to FIGHT against that and so they were AGAINST Japan. Germany was on Japan's side. Russia was under attack by Germany because they also had the same mindset of World Domination. Basically Japan and Germany were allies in this war. The Philippines was also attacked and my grandfather participated in the Bataan Death March where he had no food or drink and was expected to March pretty much the whole day. I think that is what contributed to his premature death at 57 back in 1979.

"During World War II, Japan attacked nearly all of its Asian neighbors, allied itself with Nazi Germany, and launched a surprise assault on the U. S. naval base at Pearl Harbor1. Japan's war aims were to establish a "new order in East Asia" and build an economic bloc consisting of Manchuria, Korea, and North China that would draw on the raw materials of the rich colonies of Southeast Asia2. Japan entered into World War II seeking power by means of land, natural resources, and military dominance3"

russia invaded poland together with germany! from philipine perspective the focus on Japan but germany as Japan's ally is reasonable.
1.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. To make this fun rather than copying wikipedia, I'll give a summary from memory.
After WW1, Germany was given significant penalties and became quite poor. Many germans felt like they needed drastic changes and anyone you can blame would be a valid excuse. This gave an opportunity for Hitler to rise in political popularity. Of the scapegoats he choose, the first example was obviously the (rich) jews. The second became Poland. Some accusations about germans being mistreated became widespread and invasion of Poland began. This started a chain of event where the UK and France retaliated against these actions and things grew like a wildfire.20 Reply- 1.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
1 yIn Europe, Hitler wanted to expand Germany's borders and sphere of influence, thus the Anschluss invading Czechoslovakia and then Poland with the USSR. Then Britain and France declared war on Germany.
Eventually, Germany invaded the USSR to take the wheat fields of Ukraine to help feed Hitler's army.
Japan did not have a lot of natural resources, so instead of trading for them, they invaded China and Korea. The US cut off sales of oil and scrap iron to Japan. Japan knew they would eventually have to confront the US in the Philippines, so they tried to take out the US fleet.

1 yJust Germany? Not Hungary or Romania? Not Siam? Not Croatia, whose inhuman brutality horrified even the Nazis? I suppose that's understandable; they were relatively minor powers. But not Japan, whose inhuman brutality horrified even the Croatians?
00 Reply 2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Germany attacked Russia much later than Poland, France and Britain. Britain and France declared war on Germany for invading Poland.
Autarky - self sufficiency for Germans - was a big strategy/objective for Hitler but you could find many reasons. Unifying Germans is another. Oil was another (autarky again). Britain, France, Russia weren't ready for war so there was the consideration that it was go now or not at all.00 ReplyThe major causes of World War II were numerous. They include the impact of the Treaty of Versailles following WWI, the worldwide economic depression, failure of appeasement, the rise of militarism in Germany and Japan, and the failure of the League of Nations as google said 🌚

1 yThe main reason for WW2 was WW1, more specifically the way WW1 ended. The Versailles Treaty was harsh in Germany, triggering a desire in Germany to get even... and expand... to take over all of Europe.
12 Reply- 1 y
wrong no German government ever wanted those things. the goal was different as hitler wrote and said in speeches.
- 1 y
@strateguy632 The German government under Hitler sure wanted to expand... Lebensraum... to provide space for the German people. And Hitler wanted to get even for his WW1 injury and the way the Versailles Treaty hampered Germany.
Anonymous(36-45)1 yWW2 was a result of governments trying to prevent it after WW1. They hamstrung Germany after the war which led to the rise of an injured veteran that had an intense hatred of Jews because of the death of his mother which he blamed on her Jewish doctor.

1 yI think the treaty of Versailles essentially placed most of the blame for ww1 on Germany and enforced a draconian punishment on Germany that made them desperate enough to elect someone like hitler.
