I've always believed that if an allegation of Rape is proven to be false and malicious that the consequence should be a sentence equivalent to what the accused faced.

I'm not talking about if he's found not guilty, but if a proper investigation by police proves the alleged assault never happened.

The kind of impact a false allegation of Rape has is as much a sexual attack on him as an assault on her might have been. It's a sex crime. Make her register as an offender for false allegations - once she's released from a mandatory prison term.

The reason for that is simple: even if it's proven he couldn't possibly have committed the assault there will always be people who refuse to believe it. Even when DNA evidence has proven assaults were committed by different people than the accused there are cases where judges had to overrule the jury because the jury was still set on convicting.

I don't put myself in situations that can potentially be a problem. If I am in an environment where booze is flowing or women are forward or drunk, I make sure I am around my girlfriend or friends. I make sure I am never alone with a woman I don't know or trust. Had a trash woman I didn't even know try and accuse me of raping her. She was laughed out of the police station because everyone in my community knows me and only way that could have happened was if my wife and I did it together since we spend all our time together. There's not really much I can do besides not be a rapist. If someone wants to accuse me, they will, and if a jury wants to find me guilty without evidence, they will. I'm not going to live scared.
