Does anyone else regard having children as facing a life sentence?

I love children, but I regard having them as a painful birth, spending lots of money and making the baby the centre of your life, forever, which stops you from being free, from the moment of birth. Pain and late nights, stress, money and no freedom or fun anymore.

Yes. Aside from the part about actually giving birth, that's how I always felt about kids. It's why I never wanted any. I don't even like them all that much.
