There are a number of reasons. It is going to have a bad hit on demographics. A baby deficit will hollow out what happens in 20, 30, and 40 years time from now. Young people spend and older people save. No more demographic pyramid.

That alone is concerning.

Single men don't need to step up as much as partnered men 'is it a good idea for me to do this stressful job to earn more money?' - with a family I'd say yes but if single I'd think I can afford 4 weeks in Thailand each year at my current salary and the girls don't cost that much.

I don't mind it if the men are genuinely happy and not complaining about it. If they are complaining about it (including complaining about women), then I feel inclined to help and teach them those traditional values of a gentleman and encourage them to date in more wholesome ways (through friends) rather than online or in nightclubs since that really helped me find substantially better women, including ultimately my wife.

Mostly I'm allergic to victimology mindsets whether in men or women. Anyone who blames society for their own failures has an accountability problem that I am tempted to point out. So I wouldn't mind like a MGTOW type if he could STFU about it and is genuinely happy going his own way and doesn't give a damn about the rest of society. But so many of the types I see claiming to be MGTOW give as much of a damn about society as the most radical feminists.

I have a real MGTOW friend. He's a surfer and lives on the beach in a shack, almost entirely off the grid and just does odds and ends jobs being a tattoo artist and graphic designer, working only enough to survive and then stops working for whole months just to surf. That's a real MGTOW and he never complains about society or women.

And I actually admire his lifestyle and wouldn't do the slightest to discourage it. He's as happy as he can be going his own way and living just to ride the next big wave. It's totally awesome. But if he ever had a change of heart and started complaining as much as the so-called MGTOW types, or trashing women and society as much, then I'd feel inclined to start helping a bit.

they have core believe in the importance of building a balanced healthy family
which is what single men aren't doing
for em a man has to make family, give to that family n provide for it

I saw a podcast where a woman said that a friend of hers is a pro life activist. This pro life activist got pregnant and still ended up getting an abortion at 6 months before going back to being a pro life activist even though she got an abortion values don’t mean shit women are still going to go against their own values. Many have those values just to get with a certain man when she doesn’t actually have those values.

The value I'm talking about doesn't necessarily have to come from marriage. A very close friendship can suffice.

But any relationship at all involves "taking advantage" of another person in the most literal sense of the phrase.

For example, in a job, you do work and the employer pays you. You have both gotten an advantage from your relationship that came from the other
