Why do some people cling to the myth that border walls don't work when the people who know more about it than anyone else say they do?

What was the reason the wall was never completed in the first place? That's the problem right there!

I'm picture the wall from what I have seen on tv. But every wall has a beginning and an end.

Couldn't they get into the U. S. where the wall would be considered complete? What would be at the end if the wall was completed to stop them from just walking around the end?

They'll find a way if they want to. These people are criminals with criminal minds, they break the laws as an occupation.

Even the much less effective walls that were constructed before President Trump was elected and the Democrats in Congress suddenly flip flopped and stopped voting for more walls on the Mexican border and said walls don't work, the less effective walls were 90% effective in the places they had them.

As you can see from the responses to this question, the Democrats use this stupid anecdotal data showing one or two people going over a wall as their case. It's just stupid. One moron here said that walls don't work and the Berlin wall was proof.

In the almost 30 years that wall was up, a total of about 5,000 people got past it... out of MILLIONS. That's their case to show that walls don't work. Moronic.

Their strategy is to keep people ignorant and then hope they can trick them with stupid cases like that.

Walls don't work unless they are manned. That's really what it comes down to. Someone has to stand on that wall. Someone has to patrol that border. If you have enough personnel in the region with appropriate orders, then the wall will be a force multiplier. If you just build a wall, and have personnel open the gates and hand out sandwiches then the wall doesn't work. If no one is around to guard that wall, then people climb them, break the walls down, or dig under them. If you have no wall, just an open field, but station fire teams with authorization to engage hostile invaders and enough ammo to keep the SAW buzzing, even an open field can be a very effective deterrent. There has to be a will to protect the border from the top down... Right now there is no will to do so.

It's complete BS. The people who are flooding in are doing it in places where Biden stopped construction of the wall and it is wide open. A fraction of a percent are coming in where there are walls and most of them are doing it by using torches to cut through it and get caught in the process.

I am criticizing the simple-mindedness of the GOP. The wall alone means nothing. There has to be an increase in personnel for border patrol, repairs and observation. More detention centers and more immigration judges. Practically what the bi-partisan bill was all about until it got MAGAed to death in the House.
