What makes someone a leader in your opinion?

In your own words. Someone for who when you look at them you think 'wow, that person is a leader!'

What qualities do they posses? Can anyone be a leader? or is it only something you're born with?

To me, he knows what he wants, takes everyone's capabilities into account as much of the worries from the people below him. He takes charge and is involved with his subordinates. He's inspiring with his vision, his way of handling things, especially when there is a problem, you look at the leader when things get rough. Whether there is a problem or some sacrifice they have to make. For the sake of the group and the goal, he'll make that decision.

Someone who thinks of everyone's needs instead of just thinking of their own. Someone who's able to stay calm during the most stressful or complicated situations.

Someone who doesn't see themselves as superior. Someone who brings out the best of other people. Someone who knows when it's time to be emotional and when it's time to be more rational.

I think it's something that you're born with.

I just saw an excellent definition, at least for a national leader: "I've always believed the role of a national leader is to unite their nation, their country, their community, to bring people together," Turnbull said. Best leaders don't ask you to do anything you know they wouldn't do themselves.

I once scrubbed the waste food bins in a fast food diner alongside the General Manager in his Armani suit. Never heard anyone complain about doing anything working for him.
