It wouldn't matter people forget how the draft works. The military will still send the fatties over. They will out them out front so they can die first. And they will even go so far as to suspend physical test requirements and issue special exceptions for various things. Basically if you aren't missing a limb and you aren't blind they are completely fine sending you to the front. Reality is if their is a draft it is highly likely to target both men and women. Feminists will be thrilled to prove how equal they are

I get real mental illness as an issue, the military is being kind of lazy not to put such people in a weight loss program.

Frankly this would be a good job for the National Guard given they already have local armories with such training enabling the army to let theses people do regular jobs while forcing them to get fit.

They have a program of training overweight recruits for nearly a year to get them ready.

@drewtate If that were both working and true they wouldn't be telling us how we are too fat. Instead they would be enrolling us into such programs which are still not that wide spread.

That said find the idea of a draft outside the State's militant system unauthorized in the Constitution, as well as particulars unaffordable incur labor strapped economy.

So using the federal army not only robs the private sector of said vital labor which the Standing Federal army has no immediate need for but costs us a lot of money to have said people stand around.
As such the correct policy is to stop being lazy and instead of trying to draft everyone today to be ready tomorrow for a modern war which might run out of missiles to shoot within months to a year anyway. Conscript into existing state militia system to allow said men to get into shape and trained part time while still contributing to the private sector economy.

America already has a gigantic well trained military. Just as Russia and China do. The problem with sending civilians with just a few weeks training into battle is they don't stand a chance against experienced troops.
Conscripts are only there to absorb the enemies bullets so the real soldiers can spot firing positions. If your role is simply make the enemy waste his bullets does it really matter if your slow and fat.

Russia has very few well trained soldiers. China has fought since the Vietnamese beat them.
Conscripts usually get 6 months training and then training continues, they can be then sent to relieve regular forces outside the combat zone. The British did this in ww2 so regular forces could be relived all over the empire for service in France

I don't understand the question. What does being fat have to do with it? What does age have to do with it? What does anything have to do with it? In my day there was a Hell-On-Earth called "PCP" or Physical Conditioning Platoon, and it was a place where fatties did PT all day and it didn't count toward graduation. These basement dwellers has better learn to do chinups.

Military training comes with intense regiment and exercise so anyone's got weight won't have it for very long anyway.
But this matters not draft couldn't happen today, Nukes would happen instead or civil war.

If the government won't accept the thirteenth Amendment, it falls to the citizenry. If you can't outfight them, outfatting them is a viable alternative, I guess.

Yes, when I was a kid if you were arrested the judge would give you the choice of going to prison or joining the Army. now the army doesn't want these drugged up losers.

They will literally come get you and make you lose weight if you are too fat. They have had pre-boot camp programs to get people in good enough shapes to get through basic.
