Why do young Americans hate the US so much?

To the extent they do it's mostly because they're ignorant dumbasses and are getting praised for taking that position by the moron adults in their lives. The reality is, if you ACTUALLY get out into the world--like get a fucking passport and go see life in several countries--you'll come to realize that outsize of the US and the West more broadly in addition to a few other places like Japan or East Asia, much of the world is an unbelievable shit hole. Now, if these people weren't so fucking stupid, they COULD actually come to that conclusion WITHOUT leaving the country and seeing it for themselves. How? Look at the flow of people. Look at the Southern border of the US. Are people STREAMING south to get OUT of the US and into Mexico and head down to Central and South America where life MUST be AWESOME outside the awful USA? Uh. . . No. No they are not. They're coming the OTHER way. Why? Because the US is AWFUL? Because their homelands are a freaking PARADISE? No. Because their homelands are fucking shitholes and the US is much, much, MUCH better.

Something that people have gotten WAAAAAYYYY too discouraged from doing is recognizing that some cultures and societies ARE just better than others. The reason people get uncomfortable with that is because they WRONGLY presume that recognizing that FACT implies you think that every INDIVIDUAL in the inferior society is somehow "bad" and that every individual in the superior society is somehow "good." That is NOT correct, it does NOT follow from the recognition of superior and inferior societies. Why, because you can always CHOOSE to change your society or at least to WANT to change your society. If you live in a fucking shithole but you're trying to become part of a superior society or to make your current society more like a functioning one, that reflects very well on you. If you live in a superior society but trumpet nonsense about how we all need to be more like the shitholes or how there's no difference between our society and the shitholes or that shitholes have no moral agency to improve and can by definition do no wrong whereas everything in the superior society is somehow evil--well, that just makes you a fucking moron.

Stay in school kids--but make sure you take what you hear with a BIG grain of salt.

People don't hate the US they hate what it has become. Illegal immigration, LGBT community trying to force their mental delusions on us, trying to mutilate and touch our children, feminists claiming they are still victims of a patriarchy that hasn't existed for decades. A crashing financial system, housing market, job market, etc etc etc. Most Americans can barely afford to survive let alone live. Sad thing is those same Americans could use that same amount of income and live in dozens of countries on a fraction of that incoming

Not in my opinion, but other countries I find to be better in many respects. Finland, Denmark, Sweden, switserland, Germany, Australia, Austria, Iceland, Norway etc.

A lot of those countries have a caste like system. I wouldn’t like to live in them outside of retirement. If I had to live in another country it would be Canada.

I do like the freedom of speech, and the men run the society, aspect of Switzerland. Also guns are used in public in big cities like Zurich.

No I would pick British Columbia if I had to live outside of the US. Vancouver is a pretty conservative city, I’ve been to a lot and feel like it’s the US almost.

Europe is not a good place for young people, it depends on your age.

I enjoyed myself. Spent a year in Germany and a few years off and in in Norway

Like I said, I never had an issue but I can speak the languages of place I live in, so that likely helped

I definitely wouldn’t want to live in Europe unless I was a trust fund baby. High taxes, rude to people of different nationalities besides the UK and France, and both are those are not as good as California.

I don't think they hate America. Anyone older than 35 was born into Cold War America. It was East vs. West, Capitalism vs. Communism. And the threat of nuclear war always loomed.

When you think about it we haven't had a unifying event in America since 9/11. And Americans are VERY individualistic and naturally suspicious of everyone until something like that happens.

Young Americans have not faced an external threat in thier lifetime. When that happens it's understandable to get complacent.
