Do you think the term 'good luck' is a cop out?

In recent times I think the idea of luck has become a substitute term for blessing. I know a very religious woman who told me she had very good luck and it was her way of telling me that God gives her favour in life so good things happen to her that are statistically unlikely to happen, such as her not enjoying pregnancy and having 3 kids born on the same day in her first pregnancy so she can have a family of 3 kids without having 3 pregnancies to achieve it. The odds of that are less than one in a million.

I think it sounds quite casual or even non committal over text. Like, you can't think of anything better to say and wanna end the convo at same time. But i think it also depends on who you are messaging and how well you know eachother? If they know you wouldn't say it in a casual manner.

And of course if said in person then tone can change it enormously depending on if said in a sarcastic way, a negative way or a highly positive happy way.

I personally don't have any strings to pull on the situation. Not even good advice because you're well above my level on the matter.

I could send love but that's a little awkward. So luck is the more appropriate. I like to say fuck them up around appropriate company but good luck might be for a sensitive crowd.

I tell people good luck 🍀 on GaG quite often, and I really am genuine when I say it. It's a good thing. They're wishing you well. You are misinterpreting the meaning.
🍀 by the way, that is a 4 leaf clover of grass and it means good luck. They are very rare, and if you should find one it's supposed bring good luck 🍀 to you or you are lucky. 🇺🇸
