Good luck at the end of convo- is that a bad thing?

After speaking to someone for a few days, he ended the convo by saying good luck at the end of the conversation. I have a new job coming up and I asked this guy for help and I texted him to thank him for his help and he replied by saying it wasn't a problem, good luck. Should I take the hint and never reach back out to him?
