Are the police overall good bad or indifferent?

Depends on their training, education, their drive / motivation for joining the force, morals, and how they operate on an individual level for me.

Bad cops give good cops a bad reputation, traffic stops and frisking / kneeling on people till they stop breathing (in multiple cases) is not protecting and serving.

I’ve heard of police that are put into a position to walk around their community they serve in, talk to civilians, make connections, etc. and by doing so crime rates dropped also people aren’t afraid to ask local law enforcement for help which is a beautiful thing.

Overall, police are good. But like any organization, there are a few bad apples (a minority) that give police a bad name.

Overall, good.

You know if someone is trying to kill you, you will call the police and expect they will come and protect you. Even in Seattle they are reversing “defund the police” as it was a disaster. Even they now know.

It’s a problem. They need better training and more accountability. I think little police unions need to get dissolved and qualified immunity.
