Trending & News Whether the term "females" is considered sexist depends on the context and the intention behind its usage. In some cases, using "females" instead of "women" may come across as clinical or dehumanizing, especially if it's used in a way that objectifies or generalizes women.
For example, if someone says "females are too emotional," it might be seen as disrespectful because it reduces women to a biological category and perpetuates stereotypes. However, if used in a neutral or scientific context, such as "female athletes" or "female researchers," it may not be inherently sexist.
It's essential to consider the context, tone, and intent behind the use of language. If someone consistently uses "females" in a way that diminishes or disrespects women, it could indeed be viewed as sexist. In most cases, using "women" is more respectful and appropriate in everyday conversation.
What kind of lunacy is there in these younger generations that leads people to believe that referring to a female human being as "female" is "sexist."
They should have named it the "triggered" generation. Or maybe the lunatic generation.
It definitely speaks for their character. Calling women “females” is one step up from calling them “bitches” in my opinion and it’s used as a dehumanizing term. If we proceeded to call men “males” suddenly its underlying demeaning definition becomes prominent.
Calling a woman a “female” is like calling a dog an animal as a general term. Yes, dogs are animals, but they are identifiable as dogs. It sounds much more valued when referred to as my “dog” vs. my “animal”
And honestly, if a man called me a “female” I’d assume he isn’t well educated. The practice of calling women “females” originated from men from the hood with a limited vocabulary.
Unfortunately we have to with the trans freaks trying to insist they are women. Sure most men are pushing back against the perverts but we also have a back up clarifier that ends the debate. When we say women we mean females and when we say females we mean women. It sounds reductive but is not intended to
Trans women are insisting they are women which they are not. However since some are accepting the delusion the one thing trans women cannot be regardless of what is accepted is female. If you don’t like being called female then you would have to start calling out the trans freaks claiming they are women that is forcing this change in language
@JacobJordan Trans women have nothing to do with this conversation. It’s just a whataboutism to try and prove a point. I will not call out trans people because the life choice someone else chooses to live has nothing to do with me, or you. If you call me a female I will just assume you’re ignorant and uneducated, which you’ve proved throughout this conversation.
Telling me to commit suicide wow you are delight 🤣🤣🤣 be quiet bitch and go do some housechores. And trans women are very much part of the conversation because that is why the term female has become more commonplace which even a dumb skank would know if she bothered to educate herself. Have the life you deserve.
🤣🤣🤣 and you have a fantastic life hopefully you find a solution your anger issues that doesn't involve telling people to commit suicide. Fun fact a call to any cyber crimes could see you found and charged with a felony.
Lol the back track once you realize you could end up in prison. Yeah think before you speak whore. In fact don't speak again. Shut your mouth and do what you are told.
@Siri137 she'll have to get back to you in few days 🤣🤣🤣 she is on constructive time out for telling people to kill themselves
@JacobJordan You probably should though, I doubt you contribute anything useful to society just from your remarks
@Oliverlogan23 yeah just the salary for over 100 people to live comfortably, job stability for the next 40 years minimum, life saving medical advancements, a place for 200 homeless people to have a safe place to sleep, eat, shower, get their lived back together 🤣🤣🤣🤣 other than that definitely nothing useful. Be quiet inbred clown.
@Oliverlogan23 the most use your entire life will ever amount to is feeding whatever brain damaged living organisms decide to consume your waste of human flesh. 23 likely living with your parents. Enjoy life 🤣
@JacobJordan Sounds like yourself anyway I’m not gonna argue with you
@Oliverlogan23 because you have nothing truthful to say child. Now be quiet and go do your homework
@JacobJordan Also went ahead and reported you as well so hopefully you get some quiet time for yourself
@Oliverlogan23 lol reported me for you telling me to kill myself. You stupid.
@JacobJordan Lol I actually didn’t say it directly unlike OP so good luck proving it.
@Oliverlogan23 lol you don't have to say it moron you made it very clear what you mean. I mean honestly if you are going to speak you are 23 you should have an iq over 45 I mean really talking to a borderline brain dead hospital patient would yield a more intelligent conversation. You think you can manage something in the realm of mediocrity? How about just in the realm somewhat sentient?
@JacobJordan Try having an argument without resorting to cheap insults is that possible for you? Just wondering if you can get your point across without insulting someone, kind of shows you have no real argument
@JacobJordan And go ahead, report me then. Let’s see what the admins have to say and I’ll be awaiting my ban.
@Oliverlogan23 coming from the inept waste of space that told someone you know nothing about to commit suicide. You boy are the perfect example of someone who will talk all kinds shit behind a keyboard. Cause I can promise you you wouldn't say it in person. You know why? Because you would be eating out of a straw for the rest of your pathetic life
@JacobJordan Are you able to have a conversation not based on cheap insults? I’ll ask once again
@Oliverlogan23 lol you don't deserve a conversation you told me to commit suicide. And I once again remind you if we met up you would be pissing your pants like a 3 year old. If you somehow managed to stammer it out the reaction would be immediate profound and without mercy or pity. Unlike you everything I have said I would say to your face and I would mean it.
@JacobJordan If you legitimately would like to meet up, I’d be 100% down. Fortunately for me, I live in an open carry state and I’ll already be anticipating you coming to assault me, so I’ll go ahead and open a police report for criminal threats and harassment and get you locked up. Please, shoot me a message so we can get your felony charge started!
@Oliverlogan23 oh sparky you seem to be laboring under the delusion that would be able to do any of those things. I have a house full of chemicals that require federal chemical possession licenses. Things that can have some spectacular results on someone. And being as I own a laboratory that receives government contracts well I'll let you figure it out yourself what that means. But that is neither here nor there the reality is if we met up you would be too scared to say anything because you haven't experienced consequences for running your mouth. I also shall be bidding you adieu as you are not worth for communication enjoy the broke life.
@JacobJordan Like I said, send me a DM and we can get this started. If not, keep yapping.
@JacobJordan Did you guys ever meet up? I’d love to see how that exchange went. 😉 @Oliverlogan23
I don't feel weight of words in English like I feel it in languages I grow up with. (Polish and German)
In both native languages I speak is "female/male" both and adjective and noun, rather biological terms used in relation with animals. Noun "woman/men" is reserved for humans. It would be ridiculously inappropriate to use female/male to describe a person in a serious talk. But again as non-native English speaker I don't really care it sounds just funny. I do not support or criticize use of such terms in English.

Whether something said was sexist, or racist, depends on the intent with which it was said, and not the particular words which were said.
its not sexist
a woman is a female
a man is a male
You're one of the only sane FEMALES in the comments apparently. According to someone in the comments, it's dehumanizing. LOL.
She's lying. She still thinks it's dehumanizing she's just saying what she knows men want to hear
Stop lying
You say one thing in one poll comment and something that totally contradicts your supposed stances in another.
So either you're lying or your just trying to agree with everyone
And you're opinions tend to be contradictory because you want to agree with everyone which seems like a typical female thing to do
"My opinions often r different from what majority agree on if you ever notice it"
Exactly
I don't think I'm the one who doesn't get it I think you're the one misunderstanding what you yourself are doing and trying to defend yourself at the same time
No sadly it is becoming more common that we have to because of the LGBT terrorists trying to insist that woman and female are not the same when factually they are
Agreed. I’ll probably start dating females more these days
Saying*
This is dumb. Anyone pretending to be offended by it is dumb. Any white knights coming to our rescue over it are dumb.
Health journals call us birthing persons or people who ovulate. I'll take female all day long.
Stop bring so f-in stupid and playing these stupid linguistic torture games. Keep your deep unhappiness to yourself.
I use "girls", "women" and "female" interchangeably, depending on the context. Sometimes, one sounds better than the other, and NO, it's NOT fucking sexist. And if both female and male feminists want to complain, I can start referring to women as "bitches"
What the fk is even the difference? This is what I hate about society today, I didn't even know this was a thing so I could've easily used the "wrong term" for referring to multiple non-male beings and offended someone... like wtf?
Stop worrying so much about the words and focus more on the intent behind them instead
Woman= a human being who's gender is woman.
Female= literally any species of animal, plant or insect.
@Smashingdoozy ffs, and that's sexist if I call you a female? It's what you are, how is it sexist when it's literally calling you by your sex...
I didn't say it was sexist.
@Smashingdoozy yeah sorry you didn't, but the question was asking if it was
It depends on the context. If a man calls men men and women females, that sounds sexist. The same as if he calls men men and women girls. If it's the same for both (male and female or boy and girl) that doesn't usually have the same negative connotations.
No, its not sexist it is just being precise, especially when the Woke idiots in society insist that they cannot define 'woman' and the stupid buggers in Government, Police, NGO's, etc are going along with it, so is it any surprise that people are falling back on precise biological terms.
No, of course not. This is the example I gave Boop.

It's not bad, but it's not good. And if things were reversed and a girl asked if the males were enjoying their dinner, it would be the same thing. It works for Sheldon, because he's just a lovable genius with poor social skills, and that's why he's the funniest character on the show.
It's a specific grouping. Females is all of that biological gender group; Women, is all females who are of a certain level of maturity (that is losely defined but generally used to distiguish from girls); Girls are younger women, generally but also can be used to compliment an older woman suggesting youth.
I don’t think so. The definitions of men and women have been challenged and changed so much in recent years they’ve kind-of lost their meaning when you’re discussing anything from a scientific or biological perspective. As long as you use both male and female when describing whatever it is you’re discussing I don’t see where people are getting upset.
That may be the most idiotic thing I've heard today. Please tell me that's not a real thing.
So far 3 women think it’s considered sexist.
I hate society.
The only way to begin fixing it is to start electing maga republicans
Wouldn't you agree it depends on the context?
Boop goes into a bar and approaches a table full of females.
Boop: So, how are you females doing tonight?
They would most likely laugh at you for your poor command of the English language. You would sound like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory. lol
Boop: So, how are you women doing tonight? (Better than "female", but not good.)
Boop: So, how are you girls doing tonight? (The best so far, but you can do better)
Boop: So, how are you ladies doing tonight? (Winner winner, chicken dinner)
(But now Boop approaches a table full of 89 year old women)
Boop: How are you girls doing tonight? (Winner winner, chicken dinner)
(But now Boop is giving a lecture on evolution at Stanford)
Boop: Since the beginning of time, males have always played the more dominant role, and females have played the more subservient role within the human species. (winner winner, chicken dinner)
You gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em... LOL
@SnackTime I agree some of those are more awkward than others, but none of those are sexist. Also, in the military the standard usage is male/female for everything, not men/women
@SnackTime All of us? I didn't see a poll. I'm always left out :(
Jokes aside. Life choices color diction. Most retired military I know still say latrine instead of bathroom and male/female instead of guy/girl. Still nowhere in this equation anywhere is even a touch of sexism.
I don't think so.
I use the word female to refer to friends, that are females by saying female friends.
Calling them "dishwasher" is sexist and any woman, that stays with someone, that gets called a dishwasher either needs to reconsider her standards and taste in men or deserves it since she's not leaving.
It's just grammatically incorrect. When referring to humans female is an adjective not a noun.
It being sexist really depends on the words surrounding it. It's not inherently sexist, just improper language.
Of course not , its just the equivalent of saying Male.
Reminds me of a big Christmas day dispute over use of the word " Ladies " , how fcken ridiculous is that? The equivalent of Gentleman.
no problem, especially with females concerned about age, lady sounds old, girl sounds young, madam and mam? "did you just call me maam?" she complained.
best is female, no age hinted and in contrast to male.
No it's not sexist. But then again women will get agitated about anything and everything just to have something to complain about.
How? I say "females" as well. What's wrong with it?
It's only sexist when it's used as a noun in the same context where 'men' is being used and not 'males'. So, if someone says males and females in the same sentence, it's not sexist; but if someone says men and females, that's clearly sexist. It works the other way too, women and males in the same context is sexist towards men.
It can be sexist when said with a certain intent behind it. The words male and female on their own aren't inherently sexist, though.
What? How could it be sexist to call women “females”? It used to be calling women “girls” was sexist now this.
I think it's speciesist. The term, "female" is usually only used when talking about animals or electronics.
maybe they are just trying to avoid the stupidity of this generation trying to change the meaning of man and woman so they just dont use it
No it's just using one extra letter for no reason. Girls is then of course better.
the word women has been heavily damaged so what are the other options. also females can make more sense depending on the context of age and specie
I think only the far left politically minded people would be offended at someone using 'females' over 'women,' or 'ladies.'
I say females and women. I don't really like saying girls for adult women though. It's weird.
it's not sexist. just awkward and weird as fuck.
Why would the use of the word "female" be sexist?
Both ways its sexist
Females has male
Woman has man
No, especially in a culture where people are obsessed with gender being a social construct.
The thought that comes after is what could be sexist…
Nah but they seem to hate it tho (they being the feminists) 😂
I have asked my female, and she wasn't offended.
No I think that’s fine
how could it possibly be
Depends on the context.
there's a thing called intention
Not sexist but it sounds kind of weird
It's not sexist but totally neckbeard behavior.
🤣 A lot of blacks use the word females instead of women. At least the ones I happen to work with. A lot of people come and go and the place I work.
No. It is just as accurate.
Nah, since that's what a woman is..
Who cares what a bitch thinks.
Why would it be sexist?
It sounds stupid
No not at all
Its sexist only if you're a leftoid
Obviously not 🙄
Incels call us 'females'
Isn’t that what you are though? Females?
Hey, incel
Oh nevermind, you’re not a female. You’re a bitch
Probably not sexist but very incel-ish.
It depends on the context
No, weirdos finding ways to get upset
Haha no.
Not at all
No, fake news
