I am a enter-Right Republican. I think the Democrat party has been co-opted by the radicalism and distain for America that grew out of several movements; Civil Rights, Women's Liberation, Environmentalism and the Anti-War movements. It emerged with the 60's "hippies" and "SDS" members matured into many aspects of society, mostly academics and mentored their descendants that have the levers of power today. They have become strongly Anti-American to the extent they want to dismantle it. They are responsible, along with weak Republicans (too many) for the decline of the country, which may be at the end of the road.
I disagree with your analysis, but I agree with the resultant state of affairs, which was inevitable given the course of America's choices in the past. Blaming it on one party or multiple parties over the course of 250 years is silly.
@loveslongnails Over 250 years, yes it is. But not over 60 years. Boomers laid out the plan and subsequent generations have carried it through. The plan was to slough toward Socialism and we are arriving now. To the extent you disagree, that's what dialog is.
I disagree totally. Socialism is nothing but a Conservative scare word tactic. They've made in synonymous with Communism in the minds of the average, 7th grade reading level American. The US has had "socialist" programs in place since the 1900's. Social Security is a form of "socialism"; actually, it's a Ponzi scheme that works!
40 years ago, it was Reagan who turned things upside down by cutting corporate taxes, flipping the responsibility of higher education in CA from 80% state 20% student to the reverse, which every other followed and hence began predator student loans. Add to that the totally bullshit "trickle down economics" farce, and where you've arrived at NOW is not socialism, it's the massive economic gap between the "haves and the have-nots".
The only reason this may "feel" like socialism to the haves is because it's become impossible to survive, let alone accumulate ANY wealth, on the average wage today. The minimum wage has zero buying power, and a college graduate's buying power today is not enough to purchase a starter home in a depressed area. Hence, you have families with college educated parents who need food assistance, and not because they're cheating the system, but because 45% of their income is going towards housing.
Like him or not, John Stewart brilliantly pointed this out: "When the Government bails out businesses, or banks, or whatever it considers to be "too big to fail" even though they failed on their own accord, that's called CAPITALISM. When the same corporations pay little or no taxes on their income, that's called a GROWTH INCENTIVE (while the profits are paid out as dividends to investors). But, when the rest of Americans pay taxes and some of that goes to feed people in poverty, or fund school lunches, that's called SOCIALISM?
@loveslongnails Socialism is nothing but a Conservative scare word tactic? Tell that to Mao's, Stalin's and Hitler's ghosts.
I don't ever hope to change a Trumper's mind, but what I said is true. Bailing out businesses with taxpayer IS SOCIALISM. Your choice not to see that is your privilege, but it doesn't change the fact that it is. It's also your choice to disbelieve the real numbers about home buying and minimum wage and buying power, but that doesn't change those facts either - the numbers are numbers, not opinions. See you at the polls, or rather my absentee ballot :)
I don't belong to any party at all. I don't vote I won't and I don't intend to change that. What I have seen is democrats are trying to rape, murder, mutilate and indoctrinate children and commit genocide against future children via the mutilation under the guise of "gender affirming care" which makes children sterile and never able to reproduce. Anyone who supports that should be arrested and thrown in prison for the rest of their lives. Parents that support this should have their children removed even though cps and dcf suck anything is better than being mutilated because your parents are too pathetic to defend their child
im independent
not interested in clowns
idealism is fruitless just pick the lesser of both evils.

I am a fierce independent and am 18 so I will be voting for the first time in a federal election in November. I would like to be a bipartisan voter and vote for the best candidate not their party. I will vote for ANY person in November but Trump he scares the crap out of me
I picked B because the "ignorant" and "worship trump" parts, but I don't think republicans are irrational or bigots. I think they are misinformed is all. Billions of dollars have been dumped into proving up an alternate reality media environment for them. This has left them ignorant of those billionaires' obviius intentions.
E) I'm an independent; I think the majority of Republicans are still maga-idiots who worship anything their traitor pig says, but there are still some Republicans with a functional brain. I also think the Dems are corrupted and need to be fixed too, but for 2024, one thing at a time - no more Republicrunts, dump Trump already for God's sake, bring back legal abortions AND BOOKS to all states, and THEN we fix AIPAC and the Dems.
This reminds me of an old question I asked: As an American, do you think of Democrats and Republicans, or Liberals and Americans?
I'm republican. The way I see it the republican party is the party of men and the democrat party is the party of women.
unless they saw your other posts people won't understand your code! but i did.
Glad to hear it
The fact that most people who didn't pick independent think MOST people on the opposite side aren't decent people is wild.
I would say that they need to touch grass but I won't because our legislators are terminally online and think the mental patients represent the majority.
I'm still a registered Democrat but I've gotten pretty disgusted with the party. I would choose independent if I had to choose now but I'm too lazy to make the effort to change it. No way I would vote for the current GOP on a consistent basis.
however bad anti-republican write about republican, such they are double that bad.
Democrats are crazy, America hating commies.
