What do you think the country should do in this situation?

Armenia is exposed to threats from Russia and Azerbaijan. Russia forces Armenia to hand over its lands to Azerbaijan by threatening to kill civilians. Russia puts pressure on Armenia through Azerbaijan and threatens war. What measures do you think Armenia should take in this situation?

With the Ukraine war raging and Putin still bloodthirsty this is just a bad situation for all former and current victims of Russia, including, but not limited to Georgia and Moldova. I doubt there is any real short-term solution available, sorry.

Get in with the USA. Offer to let them build bases in the country. They'll take the opportunity, and with Americans right there, Russia isn't likely to attack because if American soldiers get killed, the USA can strike back, and harder.

Only real option is to get a forign power hostile to both to put a military base on your territory. In this case ideally the US or Europe.

This could be done quickly and would ultimately open the door to NATO.

@strateguy632 A military base would put anther nation's military in the line of threat if anther country tried to invade. Combined that with a defense treaty and it makes it unlikely you could invade that country without going to war with the other. The other would not believe you would not attack them and be inclined to strike first before their small base is destroyed.
