I often think the risks don't justify the rewards. I lack enough expertise on the subject to say for sure, but just in a knee-jerk type of way, it seems counter-productive more often than not to me.

The species generally became extinct for a reason; they became maladapted to their environment. That could largely or entirely be our fault in some cases with all our tampering, hunting endangered species for sport, etc. Yet unless we can alter the environment to become hospital to these creatures once more, it seems like they're just going to repeatedly find the same conditions that led to their extinction in the first place.

From both the standpoint of ethics and practicality, I think the reasons should extend far beyond our own amusement or mere regret that the species became extinct.

No because I don’t want dinosaurs to be brought back into existence. Just think when cloning becomes the new normal the possibility will be enhanced with most anything.
