Should Humanity Bring To Life a Neanderthal Clone?

I haven't watched the video yet, but let me guess. Michio here is saying we should, if only because we can, because it will "further our progress, and advance science", or some other lame crap like that.

If it ever becomes possible (or if it already is), then no, we shouldn't. A neanderthal clone would be at first a celebrity circus freak, and then when all the attention died down and people got back to their boring, mundane fascination with human "celebrities" once again, he or she would be all alone, an outcast in a world in which he/she just didn't belong.

Sometimes "progress" just isn't, because it's a clear step in the wrong direction.

Neanderthals weren't that dumb, that was a Victorian myth that stuck. They didn't entirely go extinct either, their DNA makes up about 5% of European DNA. The problem is that DNA is liked to genetic health defects like cancer. Perhaps a neanderthal clone could be useful for research in those areas.

Why don't they use all that money not to make another person but take care of the people that can't be taken care of right now.

I think reviving highly sentient species that is extinct as another branch of homini just for scientific curiosity and entertainment is highly inhuman.
What than after a neanderthal child is born. Who takes care of it? Will it have right like other children? Psychological stress of this individual when this person starts to know who it is? Questions over questions.

This is different with raptors or t-rexes. It's will be just stupid big birds who want hunt, eat, sh.. and copulate.

Well that would be cool, but it doesn't have any benefits. They are cloning a Woolly mammoth because they knock down trees and it helps lower the climate. The neanderthal has similar DNA to a lot of humans, so studying their immune system can help cure sicknesses.
They are only going bring back animals that help fix ecosystems that were destroyed because humans over hunting them or things creatures that benefit our environment. A dinosaur is very old and there are not a lot of creature that are related to it expect birds. If they bring back we don't know if it will be able to survive and most likely will sit in a lab all day.
