Do you believe you would have thrived more in a world without electronics and firearms or the world we live in now?

Hmm it’s a tough choice, life without electronics is the hard one, firearms have zero impact on anything apart from wars.

without electronics, you lose modern medicine, you lose electricity unless you allow electricity as it does not require electronics (tenuous wording). Life without electronics and electrics, potentially puts us back to where mortality rates are very high, from birth onwards, everyone would have to face living a far shorter life and a harder one. I do archery as a sport and have for a while, I have built stone and wooden structures, I have done fencing and can hunt, set traps etc. I would get on with life without modern electronics but it would be a much harder life. It’s one thing living rural in the modern age with a safety blanket of technology on call, without that safety blanket…. Much harder.

I think I would have drifted to a very similar life in almost anytime I lived in. I suppose I could call it thriving but more accurately just living at a level I am content with.


I do think I’m appreciative of the comforts and luxuries of this life but I sure to think my soul would be better suited for several specific times in history before this one.

Probably not. I grew up before the internet. And while I lived a time with a lot less technology. And while I enjoy camping and communing with nature. I certain do enjoy modern conveniences. I think I'm tough enough that I could have survived. But I doubt I would have thrived. We're talking about a time before real law and order where justice was found at the tip of a sword or the end of a noose. And while I can hold my own in a fight, I'm not brutal enough to thrive in that environment. In that world there was wolves and sheep. And while I don't consider myself a sheep, I wouldn't want to live the life of a wolf.

in general nerds like me would be the first stabbed to death to see what was in my pockets. now is far better. i got a gin for self-defense and practiced aiming.

my job is hi tec so this world is far better.

I think it's fifty-fifty. It's either like I would have done really well and become like the leader of some army, rising from peasant to noteworthy. Or I would just fucked everything up and been the ultimate drunkard.

You seen Rome? Pretty sure I would have been Titus Pullo in mindset but absent the genes that made him so much taller and stronger. So I'm gonna either be like the ultimate badass or the ultimate loser. One of those two, probably heavier weight on the loser.

Maybe 75-25 reassessing my odds, but a 25% chance of being a badass is still a pretty good one, you know. 75% of being a deadbeat loser who died with some sort of spear impaled through my ass on my very first battle. It's gonna be a make it break it thing for me with that very first battle. Either I break it hard or make it hard. There's no in-between, since quitting isn't in my vocabulary but there's a lot of weakness in my vocabulary of a kind that doesn't involve quitting.

I'm content. Probably because I've only known the digital age. There are things I'm sad i couldn't have experienced, and things that dissapoint me about the modern era.

However, I wouldn't go back in time if there was an option. Life's too comfortable right now

It would have been interesting living in pre-tech times, and I'm sure I would have survived... not sure if I would have thrived though. If it's all right with you, I'll stay right here in the 21st Century.
