The defence produced evidence and arguments that confused the jury and introduced a level of doubt that the jury found reasonable. Everyrone "knew" OJ was guilty but the jury is always instructed to consider only the evidence produced in court. "Knowing" someone is guilty isn't sufficient reason to convict. The Rodney King fiasco was probably at the back of their minds. I'm sure OJ was happy to get a mostly black jury.
the prosecution botched the case
yes this too. the fermin cop guy was atrocious smh

Well it wasn't just rodney king it was every trial before that where black people were constantly trounced on over and over again by corrupt police and judges, lawyers etc...
but they chose the wrong guy to use as their martyr and i think the optics kinda hurt them to this day.
Skip to 4:58 here where he explains how black people maybe partied too hard after OJ was acquitted lol. its hilarious but i can't help but feel this was completely true.
i recall watching that excellent multi part documentary series on the oj trial and someone witnessed one of the black jurors stand up after the verdict and raise his fist in the air in a kind of black power salute gesture. so yeah this trial was unfortunately wayyyy bigger than what it should have been.
I think thst ithad something to do with it. The whole thing was messed up.
No, they acquited based on the evidence which didn't include Rodney King.
That is an interesting spin.
no. not even close
