What do you think about WILDLIFE CROSSINGS over highways?

The State of California is building a bridge over the 101 freeway to allow wildlife (mountain lions are others) to safely cross the highway. The bridge will have grass and other fauna so that it will look natural, and encourage animals to cross it. Here is the story...

We have some in Ontario. I think they are a great idea, it allows wildlife like moose, bear, deer, etc. to cross over the highway safely and it's reduced vehicle to wildlife collisions dramatically on certain highways.

We also have both fine mesh fence and overpass/underpass structures installed to direct snakes either below or overtop of the highways to avoid traffic.

Love it. I only wish it had been here in time for P-22 to prevent her death. Uno, the mountain lion near Santiago Canyon was struck by a car too.


Not only is it good for the animals and ecosystem but it prevents serious vehicle collisions with animals which can be a danger to humans too.
