Then Instagram, imessage, snapchat Twitter and Facebook work just fine for the few people we need to talk to in hard to reach places. I like WhatsApp a lot and wish more people used it, but I think another reason it never took off here was mark Zuckerberg buying it and we already kinda had enough of that guy and his sketchy behavior. Why become reliant on yet another one of his spying apps?

I’ll speak in terms of a lot of East African countries I’ve visited. Most of the people there are android users as they don’t have to worry about iCloud or finding someone to fix their iPhone screen. I’ve noticed a lot also prefer androids over iPhone. Unlimited texting is also an option for a lot of users in USA compared to most. Whatsup allows many different phone users to keep in touch without paying extra for the services.

I use WhatsApp occasionally. It was the main communication method in my former company. My SO and I use WhatsApp often on cruises. Most of the time, though, we use phones and texting... unless those options aren't readily available... like when we are out of the country.
