Um, I've gotten by just fine with NOT threatening Jews (collectively, I mean), and intend to continue that.

If mean why OTHERS have done it, it's quite simple: they set themselves apart, refuse to fully integrate into local cultures (which, to be fair, is how they lost 90% of their population when Babylon came knocking), and to this day hold to a chauvinistic code of "being the chosen people", which most tribes abandoned when the still WERE tribes.

This makes them a very convenient target for leaders looking for a scapegoat for whatever problems plague their people, and has done so for hundreds if not thousands of years.
