If you got stranded on an island and had the ability to strand someone with you, taking them away from their good life, would you?

I wouldn't do it to someone I loved, because I would want them to live their life. I wouldn't do to an enemy, because then I'm stuck with them.
The inspiration for this question comes from the movie Passengers.
In the protagonists case, he was alone for a year and a half before he went a little bit crazy and chose to open one of the 5000 pods of a stranger he felt he would like and potentially love. He did so after weeks of contemplation, knowing he would be ruining her potential future.
The spaceship's goal of the mission was to colonize a new planet.
I see. Would you recommend the movie? I'd watch it if it's any good.
We need community, for sure. I am not going to pretend I am a super tough person or someone who can handle it all. But I have been through enough to know that there is another side to suffering, and that gives me the confidence to face future pain. Ethical questions are always tricky because there's what we believe we would do, and then there's what we actually would do in that crisis moment. It's good to ask those questions, though. It challenges us to unpack what we really believe.
That's the movie name. It's called "Passengers" with Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence. Released in 2006. I'm actually watching it right now and enjoying it very much.
2016 not 2006
Sounds cool and I really like both of those actors. I'll check it out!
Hope you enjoy! 😁
Thanks!
Just finished it. Top tier movie in my opinion. I'm putting it up there with my favourites
@TheRealPepperPotts Perfect answer! I can't improve on it so I'll just let your answer stand, girl.
That was such a heartbreaking movie. I have never come to terms with the ethical questions posed by it. I don't see how anyone could every know what they would do if faced with a situation like that. The movie does such a good job of making that point and the acting was raw and real. It's not a feel-good movie, but I highly recommend it. I saw it when it first came out and now I'm going to have to watch it again.
No, why would I ruin their life? I wouldn't even be able to enjoy thier company knowing I did that.

I'm going to ruin their lives? No thanks , I dont want that on my head , I will just do my time.
I would and it should be someone kind but powerful enough to come rescue the both of us.
I would strand Jenna Ortega on the island with me.
Sure, I'd take a survival expert
No, except if it was Ginger of Mary Ann.
Well, I'm not going for the Captain or Gilligan, but I might consider the Professor...
@Caroline91 😊😊😊
No - that would be very cruel.
