Who understands the logic of Christians/Catholics that don't want to communicate with people who lust, etc. yet are excited to talk to Trump?

I GET IT if the Christians/Catholics ONLY support his policies and vote for him but don't want to talk to Trump and go to his rallies but if you feel so strongly about people who lust, have pre marital sex, etc. that you don't want to communicate with them, etc. than it is weird you are excited to go to a Trump rally and shake his hand, etc. I have an ex Christian friend who ended the friendship cause I lust, have premartial sex, etc. YET is EXCITED about going to a Trump rally and to shake Trump's hand.

Catholics believe that just because someone sins, it doesn't mean they're a totally corrupt person. It goes into the whole, it's never too late to be saved/nobody's perfect thing.

Christianity teaches us to value the pursuit of becoming a better person.

People look at trump and they don't see perfection, they see a direction that is better than the one we're in now.

In the context of someone who isn't Trump. Let's say a normal person.

Christians believe a man/woman's purpose is to start a family, be faithful to it and sacrifice whatever necessary to raise the kids to the best of your ability.

Most people who lust either never start a family or neglect the one they started, are selfish, lack empathy and otherwise succumb to their worldly desires leading to the eventual abandonment of values, morality and trust in God.

These people see trumps negative actions as singled out areas of a lack of self control rather than a pattern of behavior which outlines the qualities listed above.

Trump had nothing to gain from running for office except maybe adding to his legacy. Whether you like him or hate him, it's very clear he does what he does because he feels a sense of duty. And because of what he's lost over the course of his political career and the fact his supporters saw it coming from the beginning, he's also seen as a sort of martyr.

Anyone who doesn't lust is abnormal. They aren't worth associating with.
Chances are, they do lust but lie about it in order to appear pious. Most Christians are hypocrites.

And, would those pious people support JFK or Bill Clinton who were both promiscuous horn dogs? What about creepy Joe who took showers with his daughter and son; who sniffs and gropes children whenever he gets the chance; and from whom Secret Service agents have to defend their wives from being groped?

I think it is all wrong. I voted for Biden and will again but don't like him as a person, I just rather him than other politicians that are candidates. When I found out certain things about him I stopped liking him as a person and didn't want to go to his rallies and communicate with him. I am talking about the people that want to shake someone's hand, communicate with them, go to their rallies, etc. yet would stop communicating with someone they found out is doing that stuff? I get it if they just vote but to be excited to see that person yet you judge most other people so harshly for the stuff is hypocritical don't you think?

Well, that is a complex issue since people are individuals and not a complete, unified, single, entity.


Also, the moral code we tend to hold for those in our own social circle is often very different than for those larger than life celebrities, athletes, and politicians.

That is retarded because if you feel so strongly for example someone doing something horrible or something you sre against yet go shake a hand of a person that is a politician, etc and are EXCITED about it than that is weird and hypocritical. For example, I can't stand what Biden did with sexual harassment, etc but I rather have him as a president than Trump, but I am not going to be excited to shake his hand, talk to him,, etc. when I feel so strongly about people that do horrible things and won't communicate with them, etc. Get my drift?

I have an ex friend who stopped being friends with me cause I lusted and told him to look at women's asses, etc. while in a relationship (I eventually stopped) but he brought it up in an argument. I never told him to flirt, etc. with them when I did it. He also brought up how I had premartial sex. He supports Trump and wouldn't mind going to a rally and shake his hand. He agrees he always thought he is a POS too (and still does) but didn't always support Trump. What do you think?

Well, I think you are making a mistake a lot of people can make in an issue. You are taking a piece of isolated data from a personal incident and transposing it onto an entire group of people based on a singular common trait.

You have chosen their religion as this trait, but really the reason you may have gone through this experience with this person could be for any number of reasons. Sure, he has a religion…but may he also be something else? A republican? Right handed? Jealous? Socially awkward? Dealing with unresolved trauma? Insecure? A narcissist? There could be so many other factors which contribute to his personality.

For every Christian who May pass judgement on you and like Trump there probably half a dozen of those who would forgive you and hate Trump and yet double that who would love you both. People are too complex for “Why do __ always?” type of worldviews.

Trump is like the rest of us,. He has his faults. That does not take anything away from what he has accomplished. And like the rest of us he can find redemption. There are not many people in the country with the horsepower to put America back on track and undo all the damage the democrats have done in 4 years.
