Adults socializing with new random people at bars and/or parks. Are you for or against this?

I'm sure many of you don't have the balls to do one or the other, but I'm wondering if you think this is acceptable. Do you wish more or less people would do this? Do you wish you could do this?

Someone told me not to talk to strangers, and this is in NYC. I don't know if NYC has just become less open to talking because of crazy shit happening or if people have lost their social skills or if this is really just too weird? Times have changed, so I am curious about your thoughts. Please share.

People tell children not to talk to strangers, but that doesn't apply to grown ups. Jeeez.

What's wrong with socializing and being friendly? What's wrong with talking to people? Sometimes you find them interesting.

And how else are you going to meet people? Prior to 20 years ago or so, that was the only way to meet people.

Too many people these days hide behind their devices and communicate with avatars on a screen. They are afraid of real people and don't know how to "socialize".

Socialize. That's an interesting word.

We socialize pets so that they don't attack people or other animals.

People are social animals. They have a need to interact with others. Unfortunately, in recent years, they have substituted actual interaction with sterile interaction on devices. In so doing, they have lost social skills. They also fail to see the wondrous world around them.

It's called a "third place." We live 8 hours at school or work, 8 to sleep at home, and historically we had 8 hours to go to places. Like a soda jerk, movies, malls, parks, a place to be a human with interactions with other humans. To feel alive.

This is where love, family, friendship community is created. It has been rob from us. We are less then because we can't afford our daily living our daily bread. The whole economic system is abandoned our humanity and our needs to our humanity.

I heard a woman from NYC on the news, and she said she doesn't have a single friend that hasn't been randomly punched in the face on the street. So when it comes to NYC, I wouldn't be too quick to blame apps for lack of communicating in public.

Yes please, we need more of this. Everything transitioned to apps these days so it feels socially unacceptable to approach others.

Yes to many people are anti social these days and it is because of woke and social media nonsense. People are to scared to even answer their frontdoor or phone. This is in the UK. I am for both of these things in the poll.

Socializing in public and being aware of surroundings is normal to reality. What's abnormal is never leaving the house and believing all the propaganda and lies on social media

I do that at bars only, particularly a Pub near my house. Most people go to bars to socialize, they go to parks in most cases to be alone.
