I'll be honest. From the perspective of a guy, it's funny, although I admit it is starting to get a little old and overused. But it also serves as a reminder for the state of society right now, where women don't trust men to the extent that the majority would choose a bear. I believe it's a good portrayal of how delusional the majority of women are in this generation. Women of the past that did not have Maslow's hierarchy of needs as fulfilled as they do nowadays knew the danger of wild animals and I'd be willing to bet very few of them would have chosen the same.

I understand how it could get irritating to women though. And it really is fueling the gender war.

It's honestly just sad. I agree, I think it is fueling the gender war too,. I feel like it's becoming less of a conversation and more of a Molotov cocktail. "Let's throw the Man vs. Bear question out there; we're sure to get a response!"

There are so many types of bears out there, as well as many types of men. No problem to have this question posted in different ways each time. It's interesting to see if people have the same response, for example, if it was a polar bear versus a black bear.
