No! Referring to people with whom you disagree, in dehumanizing terms like “Trash”, helps nobody, and many believe doing just that (the “Basket of Deplorable’s” comment) is at least, in part, to blame for Hillary's 2016 presidential campaign loss to Trump.
100%, sadly the dehumanizing happens on both sides with us independents getting a double dose of it. Yep, you don't call half the country names then wonder why you lost, couldn't be cause your a crappy candidate who trash talked half the country.
I registered as an independent as soon as I turned 18! Both my parents are classic liberals in the truest form, and my mom was a life-long Democrat! (Dad is from England, but my entire British family are also liberals.) So I was headed for “D” myself, until all of this woke stuff reached critical mass, and my parents were outraged at the Dems for embracing the ideology. They switched to Independent, about 6 mos before I turned 18. That made my choice easy, I’m an independent thinker, and a critical thinker, I was raised that way, and my parents are both independent critical thinkers. They could never be a part of any political movement that demands 100% agreement with their platform 100% of the time, or you’re a misogynist, racist, xenophobic, homophobe, and neither could I! Critique of a political party is fine, as is critique of an individual. But blanket statements about any candidate’s voters is outrageous. Good for you for understanding that!
I've been a life long Democrat up until the 2020 election, then I left to become an independent. Part of the reason I left the Democratic party, was the party has become too toxic, and I just couldn't take all the drama of being labeled this and smeared. I can't even count the number of times I've been attacked and smeared by fellow Democrats for not stepping inline and agreeing with everything the Democratic party says and does. You can't even have a legit concern anymore about a candidate or policy position without fellow democrats right there ready to attack and smear. There are still some good/sane Democrats left, but most of them, left to become independent.
Oh yes they have, I've encountered a few of these people on both G@G and Twitter. Some people just don't comprehend the concept us Independents hate both Trump and Biden.
You hate both of them but the bottom line is one of them will be president so who would you vote for between the two. And if you say a third party candidate that's a wasted vote that person is not going to be president
@RetroReviews That's a dumb statement. People saying "third party candidates are wasted votes" are partially to blame for us continually having two assholes running.
I believe MOST people who voted for Trump, likely hated HIM, certainly most of those who WILL vote for him next year, they just believed that despite his obvious obnoxious tone especially when talking about women, that he was (or possibly will be) better that the other major parties nominee. ¯\_(ッ)_/¯ I’ve met several people who said they voted for Trump, but that they still could not stand him as a person, they just believed in his policies. Most quote his record on the economy vs Biden, and his being the first president in recent history to NOT start a new war! I don’t know, But referring to 81 MILLION Americans as trash… That’s both dangerous, and narrow minded thinking. You should open your mind, not to voting for Trump, but for opening your mind to the fact that the overwhelming majority of Trump voters are not MAGA, they are not extremists, they want basically the same thing everyone does, they just believe a different way of attaining that goal might work better. At least that’s how I choose to think of my fellow Americans, especially the ones that I don’t personally know. (And before you ask, NO, I did not vote for Trump!). Even if I were old enough to have voted in 2016, I likely would have voted Jill Stein. And this time I am undecided, but leaning RFK. I just don’t think calling anyone “trash” is unproductive. Additionally, I too have never heard of the phrase “Trump-trash” until just now when I read your question. I really don’t think that’s something people use to describe Trump supporters.
@Cute_Miss_Laura I said I wouldn't mention names, but I never said I wouldn't mention the term was used in one of my questions. I was old enough to vote in 2016, voted for Sanders in the primary then Stein in the general election. I don't care that Blue-MAGA's blame my 3rd party vote for Trump getting elected, cause the truth is if all the Jill Stein voters had voted for Hillary, she still would have lost. All this negativity is a big part of the reason I left the Democratic party to become independent. 100% agree a majority of Trump voters aren't MAGA, a lot of them are just vote Red no matter who, which is no different the voters who are vote Blue no matter who. Leaning towards RFK, awesome, this is likely our only and last chance of electing a Independent for president, almost half of the electorate identifies as independents, and we have the 2 most un-popular candidates in modern history running for president.

no one has ever used the term "trump trash" to refer to people who hate trump.

@RetroReviews Not voting for either, voting for Kennedy who has a legit shot of winning.
When's the last time a third party candidate won? When's the last time authority party candidate even came close to sniffing a chance to win?
