Not the riots- those were freakin losers taking advantage. But anyway the idea of police accountability. Or forcing cops into a culture of de-escalation?

Their brains are like soggy toast, incapable of grasping the importance of police accountability and the need to dial down the heat on our trigger-happy officers.

These folks are like a bunch of grumpy geese, honking their disapproval and flapping their wings in vain attempts to stop progress. They are as welcome as a skunk at a garden party, or a bucket of cold vomit on a winter morning. Their arguments are as convincing as a toddler's temper tantrum in a candy store, all noise and no substance!

The anti-protest crowd, with their stubborn resistance to change, are like ancient mules refusing to budge an inch. They are the moldy breadcrumbs of society, clinging to outdated ideas while the world marches on. Their vision of the future is as dim as a candle flickering in a hurricane, destined to be snuffed out by the winds of progress and common sense.

Pay no heed to these fusty fools. They are but a sad, comical sideshow in the grand circus of life. Let them honk and flap all they want, for their efforts are as futile as a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest. Change is coming, whether they like it or not, and their grumpy goose honks will be left behind in the dust of progress!

Nope. Nobody gives a shit about protests. They're public temper tantrums and everyone with an IQ over 5 laughs at their silly asses.
But it does make me look like I'm great at my job each month when they look at the docket and see all the protests idiots I've arrested. The more protest idiots that are paying fines and court costs, the sooner my raise comes and I get another stripe on my sleeve.

Without protesters to beat down and drag off the street by the hair, a 7am to 7pm shift would be very boring.

I think it worked to relax how crimes were enforced and has ruined the communities that fell for the message and didn't think long-term about the ramifications.

What was actually needed was not a defunding but reform.

If we look at the history of policing and the judicial system we will find many occasions where power was misused and created precedent that has become standard. Those areas need to be addressed. Also we expect officers to be counselors and have empathy which is in direct conflict with the job of enforcement. We should balance that with having counselors who can be called in once the first responders recognize the level of criminal activity is low and the person needs more mental help than an officer without training can provide.

I don't know I live in a country where the police is already very professional and accountable. I don't know how the American police has changed. But I followed it in the past and saw a lot of horrifying stories about the police and prison guards.

Not nearly as much as Chauvin's 22 year prison sentence. But that probably wouldn't have happened without the protests.

They are anarchists using racism as an excuse for breaking the law. It is no different then the traitors in the UK that want to abolish the monarchy and pull down statues. They buy anti this t shorts from anarchist groups. George Floyd himself was a violent criminal, it is disgraceful that people protested for him.
