Do protests even work?

Protests happens yes but as far as I've observed, It almost doesn't change anything. Now for a bigger issue, electricity, water and RAM price skyrocketed and ai servers are around rural areas now, disturbing the neighborhoods. What can people even do to billionaires, government and the power imbalances. All they can do is waste their energy yelling whatever, even if they're ethically correct, is there even a point if they're not listened to? This makes me a question the point of democracy right now. Yeah you're allowed to reason out, no censorship, no peace and order, But in the end, You're just an ant compared to the government and the company Giants, all to impress China with AI slops we don't even need. Capitalism is getting a lot of criticisms now but I don't think that alone is the problem but how it is used. Compared to China where they are advancing so fast, organized servers, regulations catching up fast, all under the command of the CCP. I'm starting to see the good side of communism although the extremes of both are ofcourse bad. North Korea being an example of too much communism.

But honestly it feels like the industrial age all over again.
