But honestly it feels like the industrial age all over again.
Do protests even work?

Trending & News most of them, will not work... no
but many of them don't have a true intention of seeking for a change
Mexico City for example... "the city of protests" with almost, daily protests about anything and everything... 90% of them are staged, and also paid by the party who lost the power almost 10 years ago
these are organized groups for hire... and always ready to protest and also cause havoc for any chant and pretend-outrage cause they are tasked with
it's just a political/performance/propaganda force
Protests do work under the right conditions, especially when they are:
large
sustained
nonviolent
connected to broader social movements
able to shift public opinion or disrupt normal systems.
But they are one tool among many (elections, lobbying, courts, strikes, etc.), and they rarely produce change by themselves.
Its not the time for protest but revolution and revolt. Look at Nepal, at least they gained attention worldwide.
Communism at right hands is better than democracy with crazy people because democracy has many loopholes.
You know, What makes people idiot in a democratic countries is just the government not educating everyone properly. They hype up people and spoil them with dopamine, give people wrong information, destroy their critical thinking skills so they can remain stupid so democratic leaders remain in power. This is exactly why if ever there is something wrong, people protest to the point were the other protesters interrupt and debate. They people's different ideologies as shields.
Exactly. In my country, government has several subsidies for most of the people who are non-tax payers due to low income to live comfortably. They have reservations for people scheduled tribes and scheduled castes, so much that general people are suffering due to unfairness (do you think a wealthy person who is from scheduled tribe deserves the reservation more than a poor person who comes under general category?). The problem is more than half of the population falls under poverty or reservation so they vote the same government all the time because they get things for easy.
Feed them bread and give them entertainment and they won't bother about anything else. But if you spend your budget on educating them then they will become smart and start revolting.
It does if a groups of strong people support it if not it don’t

When a protest turns big enough it can't be ignored and will create a form of reaction.
Everyone wants America to remain dominant with AI but nobody wants in in their town.
You're talking about two different people. The problem is not really AI but how it's not regulated and not even ethically or well planned. But they jumped into the gold rush so soon and ofcourse how they're heavily monopolized. People are not asking for AI slops and AI steeling artists arts and music. They needed AI for the environment but the AI greed made companies prioritize on what they think are easy money, not carrying about the society.
It has been a big rush to stay dominant. In this new technology. It has been overhyped and there have been billions in investments. The internet went through a similar growth spurt until people figured out what it could and could not do. Eventually there will be a shakeout of AI companies.
Because that's what the media only wants to show. They don't show those people who oppose it. They dont show the debts of the AI bubble, how much power it costs, but rather only showing how much investments they are receiving from investors and companies who are also in dept with each other just to make their project look big. So what if it's new technology? Guns and cars also once new technologies, But that doesn't mean no one should be licensed to use them. It's no surprise that the government is always so behind regulations and licensing with new tech, similar to when cars were invented, everyone could drive without traffic laws. Even during industrialization, there was no regulations and industries could substitute anything with anything cheaper until appliances explode and food makes people sick. Yes it's the industrial age all over again, But instead of colonization, its big companies extracting and exploit smaller companies and citizens just to compete. The issue here is not AI itself but how it is done. Sure eventually maybe AI servers would be optimized into something smaller, anything can happen like teleportation, alien invasion, giant meteor heating Earth, whatever. But that doesn't mean its guaranteed to happen in our lifetime.
But that doesn't mean everyone *shouldn't be licensed to use them.
Depend on amount on em.
In here On 1998 its done by millions and they wera able to get rid people on power, back then.
