No. They don't do a damn thing unless they are extremely widespread and ongoing for a long time. None of the current protests even come close to that.

Politicians ignore that stuff - except in the case when they want to cater to the protesters. In that case it still won't matter because the politicians are already on that side.

Protests can also have the opposite affect of what is intended.
