To tip or not to tip?

In some countries tipping is seen as rude and gratuity is added to the bill instead.

In others it's seen as mandatory to allow waiters to live.

The USA is a corrupt cesspool of twisted capitalism where patrons are expected to erratically supplement slave wages for wealthy employers. It's so wrong and dumb and NOW EVERYONE has their handout or they have the oxymoron par excellencé: "mandatory gratuity". Makes my blood boil and I lived off tips in my 20s.

I like to leave at least a small cash tip for good service. These days most restaurants have kiosks to pay at that have tipping options where you never know who exactly it's going to, or it will be for a service not worth paying for.
