I typically do not tip at all.
This is not because the service is bad or because I'm some sort of asshole but because we have no tipping culture and most - near all- of us do not want one but prefer that servers and alike get a living wage right away.
Some places do expect a tip. In those places I typically tip. I just do not frequent these as often as I deem it a bad practice and even if the total expense is the same I prefer paying a little more upfront and have the service guaranteed a good wage by default.
They'll tell you that tipping is optional in the US but it is really mandatory.
I have never worked at a restaurant but i have friends who did and they daid that people have tipped so often that restaurants officially make those tips the primary income for the floor staff and the actual salary is way below minimum wage.
On top of that, you can't tip directly unless you use cash becuase tips done by card are evenly split among the staff so the tips don't even really encourage good behavior all that much to begin with. You can be the biggest piece of work among everyone and you'd still get the same amount in tips.
The Servers Rely on Our Tips as part of Their Pay. They Get Low No Minimum Wage. xxoo
we don't give a tip other profession. I think the servers are lucky
The logic consequence then must be to not eat at places where the employees are exploited?
@andreasderjuengere though in my country has not tip custom, the salary of servers is high and they are happy as far as I see
Yakup - that's the way it should be. Your country must be better than many :) - which one is it?
@andreasderjuengere I live in Turkey but it called like "Türkiye " anymore
cool :)

I tip all the time in a restaurants. If the service was good I usually leave 20%. I have a takeout place I frequent and leave the change in the tip jar. I give my barber 20% as well.
I suppose it depends on custom
No one would tip me for just doing my job.
So why would I?
it is reasonable. I think so, too
I always tip.
