Oh, well, probably worse, but that's not because of the fault of the then-living generations.
Look, past generations have collectively fucked you. I apologize for my generation fucking you and am particularly pissed-off about that because we should have known better and done better. But, when Ronald Reagan became President, that fooled many in my generation to think the ways of the GOP were better when, in reality, the ways of the GOP were to exacerbate and NOT solve problems that should have been solved by the time you folks took over.
I could see the shitstorm coming which is __why__ I did not have kids. 40+ years ago, I knew the shit was going to hit the fan (like unbelievably high college tuition and incredible college debt) and I wanted to spare my kids that - so the only way I knew that I could do that was to not have them.
Your world is getting a bit worse because the necessary social solutions to the problems created by:
is slower to evolve than the rate necessary to adapt to the rate of change of that technology.
The Boomers have a work ethic and morals that made the US a superpower. Can the next generation keep that up? I don’t know but I don’t think so. President Kennedy said ‘ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country’. I think the new generations think the opposite and that among all things must change.
If they change to what JFK was saying then the corrupt politicians in Washington will be wiped away and then it doesn’t matter so much which party is in power as they will all be doing what is right for the country.
Socialism won’t allow for superpower status and the benefits that come from that. We are not like Europe in that there will be massive corruption in medical and other government sponsored programs. That is a sure was to death.
Also note the communists in America, they will grow but notice they don’t work hard at all. They think that others will work for them which is foolish. Notice how communist countries really operate.
What the Boomers have truly failed at is allowing the Presidency and Congress become corrupt. But there were a lot of young votes that made that happen. You will need to reverse this which can be dome in one election cycle and then a purge of the corrupt.
The boomers are selfish pricks whonsaid "i got mine" and pulled up the ladder behind them. That and so much more on their watch. Bastards.
@exitseven from idealism to narcicism in a NY minute!
@DrPepper12 it was like that for a lot of them. Not me however. I was part of the counter, counter culture.

worse but honestly the Boomer generation was the first to start all the liberal bullshit that has spewed down to Gen X, Millennials and Gen Z
the origins of anti-Christ, feminism, LGBTQ and sexual revolution began with them and they have the audacity to look down at younger generations despite them being the ones to shove their propaganda to the masses
They didn't go far enough is the problem. Got jod, had kids, moved to the suburbs
@DrPepper12 nah... they fucked around and started all this soft parenting while being soft themselves
bunch of hypocrites who celebrated and popularized degeneracy and are now "shocked" by the current state of degeneracy in younger people
I don't know why you think it would change anything. There's roughly 75 million baby boomers, 65 million GenX, and 85 million millennials. When one generation fades away the generation that follows it replaces it as they get old.
You will still have roughly the same amount of old people that have old people problems many will be strapped with debt with an ever depreciating Federal Reserve currency and rising inflation. Boomers aren't unique. Every generation is in the same boat at different stages of their life until what happened back in the 1930s at Jekyll Island is fix.
You can answer that question yourselves but you're going, at some point. to have stop voting for the people you've been voting for previously.
It will be the largest wealth transfer in history. Innumerable lives will be better off.
doesn't half of it go straight to the government? death tax
Only for estates over $13 mil. If set up properly via corporations and trusts the taxman won't get shit. We soent $5K on an atty to do this and it gives me piece of mind to know the kids largely get it all tax free.
The real worry id if most of the wealth the top 1%’ers pass on to their children and not paying any taxes whatsoever essentially hoarding most of the wealth. Trickle down economics is a complete joke.
the end of middle class and western civilization.
Lol too many bitter boomers on this site.
nah it’ll be better provided their generation hasn’t completely fucked us over with fossil fuels speeding up climate change
More of the morons who think that you can magically increase wages just by passing laws without any disastrous economics consequences will take over.
Yeah, god forbid we cut into corporate profits... 🙄. Minimum should be 1.5 regional poverty cutoff. $15-$25
@DrPepper12 you're not supposed to stay in minimum wage jobs forever. They are only there to get work experience while you are still in high school and living with your parents.
If the wages are good enough to make a decent living off of, then no one would ever leave and there would be very little spots for new employees who need the experience.
JFC. 70% of minimum wage workers are NOT teenagers!!
you're presuming (incorrectly) that current worjers dont want a CAREER instead of a JOB.
If you're not gonna pay a LIVING WAGE then the alternative is UBI or welfare or some other govt assistance. Wouldn't it be better for the corporations to pay that wage rather than tax payers? And no, they are NOT going to raise prices so high as to make themselves uncompetitive. Theyll eat it.
Would you say the same thing to the 2-3% of military personnel who are on welfare? Exactly.
@DrPepper12
>70% of minimum wage workers are NOT teenagers!!
A good chunk of them are probably university graduates who were just fooled into thinking that their degree will get them the job they want right away. I can't blame them for thinking it would though.
>you're presuming (incorrectly) that current worjers dont want a CAREER instead of a JOB.
Then why aren't they leaving? The low price and the horrendous work life is supposed to be the push factor to get them to branch out. It's only supposed to be for work experience.
>If you're not gonna pay a LIVING WAGE then the alternative is UBI or welfare or some other govt assistance.
Or they can find a better paying job, like they are supposed to do.
> And no, they are NOT going to raise prices so high as to make themselves uncompetitive. Theyll eat it.
Tell that to the Californains who just had their fast food employees paid $20/hour and had their menu prices shot up notable amount.

> Would you say the same thing to the 2-3% of military personnel who are on welfare? Exactly.
No because these people are putting their lives on the line to keep our country safe from foreign invaders (at least that is what they are supposed to do, now it looks like they are getting primed to join the war of another country for no reason).
They are better deserving of a living wage than fast food workers but our government is too busy giving the taxpayer money to Ukraine which is becoming increasingly obvious that it is no different than flushing that money down the toilet.
Okay. I guess only other civilized nations can pull it off
@DrPepper12 I'm pretty sure the European workers get taxed way more than American workers do so they might get paid more but what they take home might as well be on par with minimum wage.
Wrong
Because they have language, childcare, transportation problems. Its expensive to be poor. Its not the useless degree crowd I assure you
@DrPepper12 Sounds like the economy in those countries aren't designed for upwards mobility like the US once did.
Worse. They were the real Greatest Generation
explain
The baby boomers enjoyed a big demographic advantage throughout the years They attended college in record numbers and enjoyed rock and roll, television and were the first generation to grow up with the automobile. They were the first to question the government and wrote the book on protesting. They turned the American economy from agriculture to one of invention and innovation. They were not without faults but they really shaped this country
my experience with boomers is not good. they expect you to be happy working for basically nothing. dave Ramsey, I think he's a boomer, recently said housing has always been expensive. we don't have it worse today. when in reality the average home cost is 8 times the annual household income and in 1980 it was merely 2.5 times more.
I boughtvmt first house after I got married. It was 45,000 dollars. . it seems like a bargain today but o was making less than ten thousand dollars a year. Now I make over 100k and my house is worth a million dollars. Everything else is mire than 20btimes whatvit was. My taxes are 30 times what it was. Everything is relative.
yeah you were making 10k. if your partner made 10k your household income would've been 20k. meaning your house cost you 2.5 times more than your annual income. today your house would've cost you 8 times your household annual income. you likely wouldn't have got a house. you wouldn't have got married. or had kids. or anything else you did. at least on the time frame you did It on.
@asker You can live anywhere with work from home. Move to an inexpensive area. And don’t work for basically nothing, get an idea or what job to take and get skilled. My kids did and each make over 100k. Two have very large houses. The third is waiting for prices to change.
I moved when I was younger to get to a better house and job. I left where I grew up and the family I had there. Don’t whine, get going.
@Jersey2 this is why nobody likes boomers. you think pointing out the obvious is whining. little do you know I've already tried dozens of things and multiple jobs and still broke. and if your kids didn't have you there is no way in hell all three would be making 100k plus.
@Jersey2 what's there to ask
Correct!
College was also free for them
@DrPepper12 No it was not. Only free for minorities.
No dope. It was free at least here in NYS. Even if it wasn't free it was affordable. My associates was @ $3500 for two semesters. I pulled that off plus rent, car, food, utilities on a waiters salary. You just cannot compare our generation to the millennials. It's apples and moon rocks!
@DrPepper12 Colleges were allowed to keep charging more and more as Congress (Democrats) kept raising the borrowing limits for loans. Republicans tried to stop it as it would cause the obvious effect of increased costs and high student loans… and here we are, except with the twist that now everyone is paying for the loans as Biden scrambles to shore up his odds of winning re-election, or rather someone is in Biden’s name.
@DrPepper12 If I went to college it'd cost me something like $20k a semester I'm assuming. I'm not even sure. I just know my brother pays $50k a year for dental school. and is four years
oh and my car is a piece of shit that's gonna break down. it's like being pinned down and you can't breathe. while politicians and businessmen spend $20k on a two hour private flight to an island to groom kids. it's fucking insane. we need more socialism
@Jersey2 a troll? did you just learn that word
I think you're more of a troll for trying to suggest greed is the Democrats fault.
Yes! Boomers fucked ALL of us over hut millennials especially. The kicker? THEY DGAF!
@DrPepper12 I'm well aware. I have boomer parents and they literally don't care who they hurt. it always goes back to victim blaming
Selfish oblivious pricks to the last man. They dont know the damage they've done will take generations to fix.
The country is fucked when Gen Z takes over.
No. I've taught them. Theyre gonna surprise everybody. Dont believe ALL the hype, some if its true!
@DrPepper12 that’s even worse.
BlackRock will own everything
And haliburton amd berkshire Hathaway
BlackRock will buy those up, they will be America's quadrillion dollar overlords
