To put that in perspective, about 40,000 people die from accidental falls each year. The same number from accidental poisoning and highway accidents. And lets not talk about deaths from drugs or hospital error.

At the same time, instances of defensive gun use are estimated to range anywhere between 150,000 to 3.5 million per year. Few of those resulted in any injuries or even the firing of a gun. And I've never heard of collateral injuries. But how many rapes, robberies, injuries, traumatic experience and murders were averted?

And you seem to be unaware of shooting sports, competitions, and hunting, which are very popular. Over 20,000 people engage in these on a regular basis in the U. S.
