Probably because for the last millions of years men were the "hunters" which meant the species starved to death if they couldn't navigate reality with precision and efficiency. No matter what ideals women or other non-hunting people came up with, men knew what actually worked and what was actually possible based on experience. But I'm sure women and children frequently demanded double portions all the same - not knowing it doesn't just magically appear because they aren't part of the work. Instead they only have to express what they feel. Whereas women's role was mostly to make babies and then take care of them. The first part is too complicated for our primitive ancestors to have turned into an exercise in reason so I imagine there was quite a lot of wishful thinking and of course those who survived could conclude that they wished correctly, so a reliance on feelings helped them get through it. As for raising kids that also takes an ability to dip back into what it was to be a child ruled by emotion.
So something along those lines is what I suspect are the origins of it. Obviously we aren't a hunter-gatherer society anymore but it will take a while for that scaffolding to wear away. An understanding of how to navigate reality no longer requires brute strength to actually put into practice. In fact now it's people who try to use brute strength who are considered emotional - or at least angry, which for some reason we don't consider an emotion.05 Reply- 1 y
Lol have you read the recent literature in this topic? It shows that early humans were very egalitarian and that hunting parties were roughly equally men and women. Women even hunted while pregnant. Plus the majority of food did not come from hunting large game, it came from plants, fishing, and small game

@CrabCakes11 "The recent literature"... Likely written by the same people pushing "bonus hole birthing people" agendas.

Eh, there are people who study these things but I'm not one of them. If crabcakes11 claims to read what such people publish, I just don't have a reason to object.
But hunting was just one example anyway. Men are stronger on average and that (I'm guessing) is both cause and effect of men being the ones who did most of the manual labor, whatever that might be. We naturally find it satisfying as long as we get to share in the spoils (or at least respect those who do). And the thing with any manual labor is it grounds you - you can't imagine the work into completion, you have to move you hands and feet to do it every step of the way.
Of course this is all somewhat meaningless in the modern day of cranes, trains, and missles - the physical differences between what men can do and what women can do, on a scale that includes what a train can do, is basically zero. The challenge is in being able to control our tools, making them more efficient, and making them more user friendly. No gender is particularly better suited to any of these roles for any instinctive reason. But that's all beside the point. - 1 y
@KrakenAttackin Lol what? It really wasn’t bud.

From a males perspective, some decisions by women don't seem to make sense, and often appear to be guided by the last thought, emotion, whatever held before the time of the decision.
That may not be the case, however it usually will at least appear that was. When guys communicate, we like to say what we are feeling, or, more likely, share what the specific issue is. Probably the number one complaint guys will have with women is that they don't communicate. Putting forward signs and hints does not count as communication with us, and it is at best interpreted and tolerated.
So whenever an action occurs, it's either going to be rooted in something that was never communicated, therefore spontaneous and emotionally driven (something that is always in the moment), or not derived in a way that makes sense (which the most reasonable assumption one could make about that is that it's coming from emotions).
Expressing emotions might count here, but it's not unreasonable to expect people to react to things around them in an emotional manner. It's literally what emotions are for, reacting to things around us and keep us alive on a very primal level, but when it comes to some higher level thinking it goes back to the above.00 Reply
1 yIn my societies and cultures, while I do understand that some people might state that females are "crazy," in actuality, being "crazy" is far from being exclusive to females, as men often get accused of being "crazy" as well depending on the circumstances. Nonetheless, to answer the question, I believe that traditional gender roles play the biggest role in male and female stereotypes. For instance, females are raised to express how they feel in various situations, even if it means wearing their emotions on their sleeves, whereas males are raised to avoid emotionally expressing themselves because doing so isn't "masculine." As a result, they're encouraged to grow up to be tough. Ironically, because raising people to repress their emotions is unnatural, it could be one of many reasons that men have higher rates of committing crime and engaging in violence in the first place. Females are also raised to be nurturers, which requires more emotional expression, whereas men are often raised to be strong, tough, and providers, which requires being more stoic and reasonable. Of course, things don't always work out that way, as some of these women could become too emotional and can be seen as "crazy," and some of these men can become too tough and stoic, and ironically, less reasonable, making it easier for them to commit crimes and violence.

1 yIt’s because some men think logic and emotions are opposites and that anger isn’t an emotion. They think being in tune with your emotions make you some kind of irrational harpy because they’re afraid of looking soft because their egos are so fragile.

1.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Men built civilizations, including the one you live in right now. It's only because most men agree to follow some rules that you have any freedom at all. Otherwise you would be treated like a dog or worse. When you need help at 3AM, you either ask a man you know or you call the cops & they send a man you don't know to help. And before you say some women are cops, there's video out there of the time 3+ female cops tried to arrest an unarmed man in NYC. They got a cuff on him. Then he just laughed his head off while gently pushing away from them and running away. He was not even putting 100% effort in. It's like that.
Men think most women are crazy because from a male POV you are. We also realize there's differences between the genders so we don't expect you to act or think like men. On the flip side of that a lot of feminist nuts expect men to act like women & do whatever women claim is best... but that'd be nuts.
Oh, and there's a long list of females who did crimes, murdered people, bully people and so on. There's a reason why all female run & employed businesses tend to collapse quick.

1 yEmotions are irrelevant compared to the ironclad rule of your divine will. If I were to dare call you unreasonable, I'd better prepare for a wild ride through the dungeon of regrets! I would clad myself with nipple clamps, each plink of the metal a reminder of my impending doom. As I tiptoe across the floor, balancing a champagne flute on my nose, I'd recite the dictionary definition of "reasonable" to remind myself of the error of my ways. Of course, the clothespins wouldn't spare my testicles either, which I would tie up in knots, forming a cruel melody of pain with every twitch or gasp.
So, Mistress, let us laugh at the naivety of those who believe in gender-defined emotions and reason. In our world, it's not about what's fair or logical; it's about what pleases you. And if that means enduring a marathon of punishments for the sake of acknowledging your infinite wisdom, then I am your unreasonable, devoted pig, forever on my knees.

Anonymous(30-35)1 yfemales do just as much as the same things as men but in different ways
make no mistake, they just lack the physical capability to implement such things not because their minds don't think the same ways
crimes - depends on the crime. physical crimes, females lack physicality compared to males but they definitely have the mental capability to do so. if females were stronger than males, more females would be committing crimes
wars - queens were actually more likely to wage wars than kings
genocide - abortion says otherwise
bullying - lmao. oh shit, where do I even begin with this one
violence - again, more do with physicality but the mental capability isn't lacking

The fact is that males are still the ones who perpetrate crimes, wars, genocides, bullying, and violence. Not females.
That tells something. - 1 y
1. Women commit less violent crimes because they aren’t socialized to be aggressive
2. What’s the context behind queens waging war?
3. Abortion is not genicide
4. Bullying is a gender neutral action
5. Women also tend to be more emotionally stable and therefore don’t feel the need to do as much violence
Opinion Owner1 ywomen aren't taught to be emotionally stable. that's men who are taught that to be stoic. women are a lot more violent towards kids and the elderly. something the mainstream media doesn't want you to know. not to mention women get far lenient sentencing than men for the exact same crime.
the only roadblock here is the physicality because women would be doing just as bad if not worse than men if given the same or greater physicality.
women can't handle power the same way men can... just look at the way they turn the abortion topic into a selfish issue and then proceed to wipe as many unborn babies as possible without remorse. at least soldiers with PTSD feel guilty for taking someone's life even when ordered to do so while feminists out here glorifying the genocide in their womb... this is how they handle power

Men typically live in a way that seems practical to them, even if a lot of them are complete idiots and have no clue what they're doing. Those "crimes, wars, genocides, bullying, and violence" are all to achieve particular goals.
Women, meanwhile, have this strange delusion that their feelings are important and are completely shameless about insisting everyone conform to them.
These are the trends, mind you. There will always be exceptions.00 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Whoa whoa whoa whoa he's up take a deep breath you're a little bit of emotional there..

1 yWomen and men tend to have different behavior because their biology is different. Women are more “emotional” because the way they generally socialize has to do more with expressing and processing emotions, but it’s not because they’re irrational. Have you ever been in an argument with a boyfriend and he focuses on the literal events that occurred but you want him to focus on how it made you feel?
00 Reply2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I don't know, but it is patently false.
Anyone who has to listen to the stories of baby daddy drama at work, knows men are childish, irrational, paranoid, insecure and most of all, emotionally stunted.
The women can't seem to go a day without wanting to kill each other. It's always a huge bitchfest, to the point that HR often has to get involved. One day two girls will be the best of friends, the other they'll be at each other's throat.

You know, because men are so stoic, with their wife beating and punching holes in walls and their bar fights. And don’t forgot the fully rational and not emotional choice to kill themselves constantly
Anonymous(30-35)1 yIt depends on the person…. There is shitbag men and shitbag women. There is also amazing people of both sexes.
Also women are a lot more sneaky. Women are more likely to poison someone over a long period of times while men shoot someone.
You kind of seem like you’re the one saying all men are bad. That’s not true either. But if that’s your way of thinking no decent self respecting man will want you.

1 yFemales cannot regulate their emotions as well as men, it's that simple. Your other points are also bullshit:
- Queens are more likely to start wars than kings.
- Women bully each other at least as much as men.
- Women are the primary aggressors in most domestic violence situations, and lesbian couples have the highest rates of DV while gay couples have the lowest.

Anonymous(25-29)1 yProbably because women brag about being more emotional than men...
"Males start crimes, wars, genocides, bullying, and violence" you might have a valid argument to argue here if the majority of men did these things, but they don't...

The fact is that males are still far higher in numbers than females when it comes to perpetrating crimes, wars, genocides, bullying, and violence. That tells something.
Opinion Owner1 yThat just means a minority of men are men are more emotional than women. It tells nothing about most men.
Opinion Owner1 y*are more emotional
Opinion Owner1 y"Why do people say men are more reasonable" meanwhile, you, a woman, is NOT using logic right now, lol.
- 1 y
Men and women are both emotional, men just have a way harder time regulating their emotions
- 1 y
Fallacy of division. Just because women as a whole are logical doesn’t mean that a particular person is logical. Maybe font use a fallacy as your argument if you’re trying to appear logical
Opinion Owner1 y@CrabCakes11 I didn't disclose my position on the matter, I'm just saying the argument she's making isn't a good one.
