Why is it a turn on when a man stays calm in stressful situations?

Three days ago me and this guy I know witnessed an older woman having an asthma attack. After we called the ambulance we tried to help her as much as we can. Since the lady was having trouble breathing I became very nervous and kinda panicked a bit (which is dumb I know but I couldn't help it) because I thought she's gonna suffocate. The guy I was with stayed calm the whole time, never showed any nervousness or stress even though he obviously knew how dangerous and serious the lady's condition was. His calmness put me at ease a bit and since then I'm seeing him with different eyes. Why the fuck did I find this so attractive?

I just realised I never answered your question properly. It comes from the feeling as a child you want protection. A mother nurtures and a father protects. Included in that is the father's ability to remain calm so not to frighten you.. What you're seeing in him is reminiscent of how your father treated you,. I'm guessing that's the case anyway.
