Candidate Trump is promising to exempt tips from taxes?

If waitresses and waiters were to have no taxes taken from their tips. Knowing some people make serious tip monies. Do you think that they would put a portion of that money into a private retirement account for themselves?
I know people that have not reported their income over the years and now cannot afford to retire.

If they are not reporting their income, they can't retire because their monthly Social Security payment will be tiny. It is unlikely that many of these people would put money into an IRA.

That is my feelings. I know of people that have been working tip jobs their entire life. But on the other hand. Social Security probably won’t be around for anyone under 40 at retirement. So a private retirement account might be beneficial. Providing they think past tomorrow!
