It's mainly based on an entitled attitude and I don't really think it applies to politics, although there can be that kind of behavior surrounding political issues. I mostly see that behavior in women of a certain age (not every woman of a certain age, I hasten to add,...). I think it comes from a time before people could record it and post it all over the internet, when making a scene had less far-reaching consequences.

I think liberal because that promotes a superior to thou view and conservatives see society from a third person view rather than a first person view.
