1 yI don't think it's a myth, but I don't think it is entirely due to industrialization. I mean it's not helping matters, but we were in the midst of a warming period that's spans 1000's of years in the making.
We are but a blip in a very long global warming period. Last glaciation was about 10K years ago, these things are cyclic. Look at the age of dinosaurs, it was tropical/hot throughout most of the earth, then it went into a very long cold period where glaciers covered the upper and lower third or more of the earth's surface. It's been like this for a millennia.
In about another 5K to 8K years we could very well go into another glacial period.

1 yWhen I look up at the Permian ice shell encasing the planet, I... do absolutely nothing, because that melting hundreds of millions of years ago, which is why we have liquid oceans covering three quarters of the planet now. Of COURSE it's not a myth.
Now, whether and how much humanity is contributing to the current spate of global warming? That's another question. And when I say "question", I MEAN "question; the models that say Florida will be underwater by 2000 are obviously incorrect, but it's not that means THE WHOLE IDEA is wrong; as we see in acid rain, humans can and do affect the environment in significant ways.

Anonymous(18-24)1 yClimate changes over hundreds of years, not 10 or 20 or even 50. It's warmer now than it usually is, but that's weather, not climate. It happened in the 1900s, it happened in the 1800s, it happened in the 1700s, it happened in the 1600s and I haven't seen any weather or climate records from before that.

1 yIt's happening, it's not a myth. Sadly still there are people who don't realize this and think it's a myth or some propaganda. The glaciers are melting, global warming is rising and we got to do something about it before it's too late.

Pedersen Glacier

The photo above is the same place in the Artic 105 years apart.
You can pick pretty much any of the worlds glaciers and see a photo of a 100 years ago v now and see obvious differences in ice coverage or rather lack of or no ice coverage at all.

Maybe you haven't been alive long enough to remember all the times the ocean rose and killed millions of people, food stopped growing, and half the population died. Didn't you see the covers of Time magazine since the 1960s until now? We have all been dead long ago. None of us are alive. lol.
It is bs the way it is portrayed. Climate activists and politicians lie constantly about it. Many of them have investments in the parent companies of the companies that make "green energy" products. They just keep pushing the bs agenda for their own personal gains and the gains of their donors. Those same people that want heavy restrictions on USA and European countries to help the climate are somehow fine with doing business with China that pollutes FAR more than any country on Earth, plus they have to ship the goods across the ocean, using even more fuel and polluting more than if the stuff was produced locally.

1 yIt obviously isn't. All those temperature records tumbling over and over again across the globe, all the wildfires, i have noticed the last decade how dramatic the change has been here in the UK. Extreme summers every year, 40C in 2022, scientists says that would not be possible without global warming. No snow on the ground in winter anymore and massive increase in the number of thunderstorms.
The proof is in the pudding, there is so much evidence i don't know people can still claim it is a myth.

Weather in the UK is shite and has been so for the past number of years. There was no summer last year. It's looking like there is going to be no summer this year. But of course they will claim it to be the hottest summer on record.
Quite a good article here worth reading:

1 yIt's most definitely not a myth. Although climate change is inevitable and has happened throughout history, humans are speeding up the process with greenhouse gas emissions. It's a fact that the world is warming faster than any point in "recorded" history.
00 Reply 1.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. As far as man made: yes & no. I don't believe the industrial revolution did/will do any significant change. But governments are now secretly doing weather control all the time. Recent flooding in the middle east was caused by it. A lot of farmers suspect it's being used to cause drought. We'll see.
00 Reply3.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Only an idiot would think that. Like even if you tried to deny pollution which why? Chemicals effect everything on this earth. Do you really think the climate of Earth was the same 1000s to 1000s years ago?
Did ice age just not exist? Did Dinosaurs not live in a different climate? Tbf these are the same people who don't think Dinosaurs are real.00 Reply5.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No, you'd have to be an idiot to think that. Did you know the physics of the greenhouse effect was worked out closer to the invention of the steam engine than today?
00 Reply1.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The climate has always been changing long before man. where we live we used to be ass deep in glaciers 2 million years ago, but they melted a long long time ago.
Mother nature goes in millions of years cycles.

1 yLet me put it this way:The average Windsor, Ont., Feb.27 temperature is 3C (37F). It was 23C (73 F) this Feb.27, and our winters have gotten progressively milder, save the snow-filled 2013-14 winter and perhaps a couple of others, since the nineties.

1 yThe climate is changing but humans only contribute 1/3 of one percent to greenhouse gasses.
The sheer arrogance of a government that can't stop homelessness, poverty, poor education, rampant crime, etc al; to say we can positively change the climate if we just tax the fuck out of you and control everything you do; makes me want to 🤮🤮🤮

1 yOur planet has experienced Climate Change many times, it's not a myth. The question now is, how much have humans affected Climate Change. Depending on who you ask, that answer ranges from none to a little to some to a lot.
00 Reply 12K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The climate always changes. Man made "global warming" is an unproven hypothesis and is being used to facilitate harmful social and economic change

1 yI personally do not, there's to much science and real world happenings for me to think otherwise. History tends to bear this out as well.
00 Reply2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Climate change is real, but the impact of humans isn't agreed upon and not alarming.

00 Reply Its fake news. My question is who is pushing this narrative and why?
00 Reply4.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No but I don’t think it’s man made nor do I think it can be slowed, stopped or reversed
00 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No. If it was then it would be pretty easy to fetch a nice Nobel reward.
