Why all the hubbub regarding Project 2025? Did leftists complain as much about past releases of Mandate for Leadership?

Project 2025, that thing Trump disavowed. The main organ of it is the latest version of Mandate for Leadership. A book series Heritage Foundation has been publishing since 1981. Did leftists complain just as much about past versions of the book?

They probably didn't, but it doesn't matter. Leftists are control freaks and can't stand dissenting thought or policy suggestions, even from fellow leftists, but definitely from people on the opposite side of the political aisle.

And they can't point to successes in this administration to run on (unless their audience is the far left crazies).

I agree with you, I’m just wondering why they suddenly decided to make a huge stink about it now, considering the first book came out over 40 years ago. I had never heard about this book until I looked up Project 2025 just because many people suddenly were talking about it.

Never heard of it earlier, but they need a distraction from Biden's dementia and his administration's failures, plus the lawfare against Trump has so far not gotten them the results they deserved. I also see it as an attempt to enforce ideological purity.
