Did the DNC shoot them selves in the foot by waiting till the last minuet to potentially replace Biden through backroom deals instead of allowing voters to choose a stronger candidate during the primaries?

+1 yHowever the way I see it is Democrat Party is silencing Biden like they did Bernie. President Biden has showed all of us he has the policies, government connections, and the ability to get things done for the American public while also winning the blue wall. Bernie in the primaries won the blue wall and Democrats worked with Hillary to sabotage him, I’m voting President Biden a second time and don’t care what the DNC or Billionaires think. I’m with my fellow American! Voting Joesph R. Biden A Second Time!

*edit: I send prayers to Trump over the shooting, though one thing I’m definitely not sending him is a damn vote! Vote President Biden!
Send sympathies, well wishes, and prayers, not one damn vote! - 1 y
@RetroReviews That is right, I’m voting Kamala Harris 2024!

I am a former Trump supporter.
Trump failed to deliver on Infrastructure, Veteran Benefits, Afghan Pullout, Fixing The Border, Repeal Affordable Care Act / Replace it with better plan, bring jobs back, etc. ALL those promises… He failed at while on the other hand….
Biden & Harris were the ones who delivered Infrastructure, Veteran Benefits via Pact Act, Afghan Pullout, Kept in place Trump’s border policies however closed the border recently via Executive Order also has proposed Fentanyl Detectors which Republicans voted against, Expanded Affordable Care Act, and brought thousands of jobs via Infrastructure Law, Inflation Reduction Act, Chips And Science Act bringing thousands of manufacturing for microchips.
Trump at the debate confessed he knew about J6 and didn’t do anything, I would like to remind you that one of the many powers that a President has is MOVING TROOPS without Congress’ permission however can’t declare war without Congress’ permission. In the debate, Trump admitted that he controlled the National Guard to control a peaceful protest on the streets so, he could do a photo-op holding a Bible upside down. “It’s a Bible”(when asked by press if it was his). So to lie that Nancy Pelosi had some sort of ‘Girl Power’ stronger than the POTUS is a bold faced lie. In addition, Trump during the debate ADMITTED he knew that chaos would attack the Capitol yet still provided the buses to his supporters to get to the Ellipse, still told his people to go to the Capitol, and still Tweeted, “Mike Pence didn't have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country…” AND, “These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long. Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!” - 1 y
@RetroReviews
Republicans voted against Biden’s legislation to force ALL border crossings to have Fentanyl Detectors. You can blame them. - 1 y
@RetroReviews
Sorry I was mistaken, in May those fentanyl detectors FINALLY got funding from Congress to be installed which will help catch drug smugglers. It will be a total of 56 detectors installed within the next two years. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna151374

The democratic primary is about who the Democratic candidate should be, replacing them outside of that is not normal at all and very unlikely. As for having stronger candidates? That would be nice but probably not needed. By all accounts, Trump will lose again against Biden. As such its a fairly safe bet even if they could have gone for a much better candidate all things considered.

Guess you don't remember the 1968 election where the Democratic party went against the voters and chose a candidate (won 0 delegates) of their choice sparking riots. Both fellow independents and Democrats agree, Biden simply can't win, and CNN's debate solidified the notion he can't win.
- +1 y
Telling how you have to go back to 1968 and the people spoke indeed and Biden won the primary.
As for if Biden can win? He has already done it once before and the incumbent candidate has a much higher chance to do it the following election. Even if you wanted to argue that Trump is superior to last time its also the fact that Biden has the institutional bias in his favor. This is unlike last time where Trump was the one favored to win.
Even if you discount all the other nonsense like what the supreme court has been doing or how Trump has sabotaged the GOP and its ability to function it is still an almost impossibility for Trump to win at this point. This is basic election logic. - +1 y
Biden won the primary cause it wasn't really a legit primary, just ask Kennedy, Williamson and other primary candidates. No debates, not allowed to campaign in states, and states like Florida only allowing Biden on the ballot, and Republicans agreed with only allowing Biden on the ballot cause they know he's a weak candidate. The problem isn't that Trump is superior to last time, it's that Biden is worse than last time, he's showing clear signs of cognitive impairment, Trump is too, but Biden's is quite obvious.
- +1 y
First of all, the Republicans has nothing to do with the Democratic primary. Secondly, there was no serious contenders for the Democratic primary which sort of made debates and ballots pointless. Not saying the primary is not unfair, but in this case it did not really matter. There simply was no outstanding candidate aside from Biden.
And as I said before, it does not matter if Biden is worse than last time because his position to win is much stronger. - +1 y
I stand corrected about Republicans being involved, must of misread an article. Yes there were serious contenders, Dean Phillips and Robert Kennedy Jr, would have been more had DNC attempted to hold a legit primary NDA was vocal about it. I have to disagree with Biden being in a stronger position to win, myself and other independents along with Democrats agree Biden has no path to victory, and part of the reason is he's showing signs of cognitive impairment. I hate Trump as much as you do, but we all have to face reality and admit Biden staying in the race will result in a Trump victory.
- +1 y
Dean who? And Robert Kennedy Jr was a spoiler vote organized by the Republicans which never got any traction in the first place. None of them got enough percent of the vote to be a serious contender to the point where wasting millions of dollars to organize debates and whatever is pointless.
And yes, Bidens position is stronger today than last time. This is just a fact because the incumbent is always stronger. Having a president lose their re-election is super rare and having a president win an election after losing their re-election previously has only ever happened once to my knowledge. Having Trump win would be an historic accomplishment rather than something expected. In this election he has much more to prove where as Biden will be more or less protected from failing no matter what he does. - 1 y
Now what you're feeling when everything that is not running. Do you find it odd that a statement was released and not a video of him announcing it
- 1 y
@RetroReviews Bit disappointed honestly. Granted, this was the only way he could have been replaced at this point but it was in my opinion not necessary. I guess he just did not care enough or something. In a way it worked out in the Democrats favor though. The Republicans had already designed their campaigning strategy (with all those attacks on Biden being old and such) and Trump even picked his VP. Switching out Biden now completely messes up the Republicans planning and wastes all the money they spent so far while at the same time allows Biden to transfer all his accomplishments and funding to Harris.
We shall see how it works out, but I have to say Biden really did outplay Trump there.

+1 yI think the DNC aims for their feet anymore. When censuses have been taken it ui\usually shows that ~ 70% of U. S. ctizens ide ntify as democrats and 30% as republicans. Given that, one would think that there are dempcrat politicians reflecting those numbers but it's not even close. I don't know who they puy in chzrge of rhat manages to come up with most unelectable candidates, can't get their votes out and do some mighty stupid shit
00 Reply 18.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No. We’re shooting ourselves in the foot being off topic: Trumps criminal history.
But Dems aren’t unified, for good or ill.111 Reply- +1 y
As a independent I can safely say,(not for me) that other independents view Biden's cognitive decline as a worse negative than Trump's felonies. Independents and many Democrats agree CNN's debate sealed Biden's fate as a candidate who can't win. Yes Trump spewed lies during the debate, so did (not as many) Biden, but at the end of the day, voters ain't going to remember Trump spewed more lies, their going to remember Biden showed signs of cognitive impairment.
- +1 y
1) only independents are low iq voters. You’ve made up your already.
2) Biden doesn’t look good. He needs to spend the rest of campaign playing tennis on tv or whatever. True.
3) but against sex asssaulter 34 convicted felonies Trump, he’s all we have. And we can sleep at night with this team behind the wheel. No project 2025. - +1 y
Funny you think independent voters are low IQ, independent voters make up almost 50% of the electorate, us independent voters left the 2 major parties case we were smart enough to see their both corrupt and do the bidding of their big money donors. Biden isn't all we have, we have Kennedy who has a history of successfully fighting corruption. Polls shows Biden can't win, but they do show Kennedy can.

- +1 y
Because research shows there are no indie voters. The only “independents” are low info- meaning they don’t know shit about what’s going on.

Did I say i cite SNL? I just linked it for fun retard. Though they’re prob not far off. 95-98% of voters who WILL vote have already picked a candidate. Even if you don’t want to admit it.
Hell they picked their political party decades ago. The other 2% are low “political” info voters. I don’t know if they’re actual morons. They just say in countless polling how much they don’t know about politics. - +1 y
You didn't have to cite the video for anyone seeing your reply to assume it was being used to support your argument.
Your just being delusional if you believe independent voters are low info voters making up 2% of the electorate. Independent voters are one of the largest voting blocks making up 49% of of registered voters, and their number only continues to grow. Us independent voters are so low info we didn't buy into the notion both political parties are different and choose to believe they are 2 sides of the same coin doing the bidding of their big money donors.

Of course biden's cognitive decline is worse than Trump's felonies because the whole Trump trial was a sham. They did everything they could to shut him down even tried killing him
